Detention - The Danger Shop (January 27)

"You're all here because you're bad, bad little children." He looked at Deadpool. "And bad, bad little masked professors." He looked at the lottery winners. "Or because you have bad luck. Whatever. Shut up and get in the maze." He pointed to the rest of the Danger Shop, which was set up as a giant hedged labyrinth. "Leave any weapons you shouldn't have anyway over there," he looked pointedly at one or two of the detainees. No, just one really. "Take a packed lunch." He pointed to the bags. "You're gonna need it. Get in there, complete the four tasks along the way and get the prize off the thing guarding it. Or you could sit there and look like a girl and get detention again next week."

Back into action, no rest for the wicked, all that jazz. Oh look. There's a hydra. It doesn't look as bad as the stories say. Well, okay, it looks bad, but it only has three heads and as long as you don't try to cut any off, you'll be fine. Maybe. Maybe it's a better idea to find another way to placate the hydra.

Um, run? Play with it? Give it something to distract it?

Billy still had some food. He held it up to the Hydra, brow raised questioningly.

The hydra went to snap at the food. If Billy wasn't careful, it would snap his hand off too. Wouldn't want to lose another limb.

Agreed. Billy tossed the food towards the Hydra.

The Hydra ate it all up. It was still hungry. Well, one of the heads was. The one to the left didn't really care and the one to the right was too busy digging around for something. The right head ended up dropping a giant rib bone at Billy's feet.

Billy picked up the boen and threw it. "Go get it boy!"

The Hydra leapt into action, running to fetch the bone. Unfortunately, the Hydra was distracted for a good few minutes because the heads started fighting amongst themselves. Then one head bit off another head, and that head grew into two more new heads and...well let's just say that when the Hydra was done it was going to come back with a few more not-so-friendly faces.

Billy facepalmed and hoped that this was a good time to leave.

"...crap." Blair blinked up in shock at the hydra. "Maybe that kitty wasn't so bad."

The hydra's many heads tilted at Blair. It looked at him expectantly.

"Ew....what is that smell?" Blair turned in a circle and then lifted his shoe to sniff at it. "I think I must have walked through some giant kitty crap a while back. Or maybe it's just because I haven't showered in a week. Man, I'm rank! Can you smell that from way up there? I'm talking major B.O., man. Major!"

Blair wasn't sure if this thing was out to eat him, but he planned on making himself as unappetising as possible.

The Hydra's collective eyebrows rose. One head sniffed and then nodded in agreement to the others. The second head watched Blair curiously and the third swung around and dropped a giant bone at his feet.

Blair looked at the bone and then back up at the hyrda. "Is this a gift? Some sort of peace offering, because I am all about peace offerings, man."

The right head leaned down and nudged the bone forward. The Hydra then sat up on its back legs and panted, wagging its tail.

"Awwwww," Molly said. "You're so scary and vicious, aren't you? So cute!"

The Hydra sat up on its back legs and panted, glad that someone recognized it for its cute viciousness. One of the heads reached down and picked up a huge rib bone, then dropped it at Molly's feet.

Molly giggled again. She loved detention!

Picking up the bone easily, she gave it a good toss. If she could get the hydra to go out of eyesight, she could just slip past. "Fetch!" she yelled.

The Hydra bounded off to fetch the bone, leaving Molly free to escape.

And escape she did. Zoom!

"Holy crap!" shouted Dick when he saw the hydra. "I mean...uh, hey there good lookin'"

Maybe he could schmooze his way past the hydra.

The Hydra tilted its heads at Dick and said "Mrh?"

"Yep, I'm talking to you!" says Dick, who managed a grin. "I have never seen a hydra with such clean and healthy teeth before! Really, you should get an advertising deal with Colgate or something."

The Hydra preened at the compliment. One of the heads dropped a bone at Dick's feet.

Dick didn't even want to think about where that bone had come from. "You wanna fetch?"

He faked throwing the bone once before throwing it as hard as he could and as far away from where he needed to go.

The Hydra bounded after it and was running so fast that it caught the bone and kept skidding along until it disappeared through the hedges.
