Novice's Guide to Villains and Villainy - Week 3, Period 3 (Danger Shop)
Today the Danger Shop wasn't set up like a classroom, it was set up like a room with chairs and viewing windows into three different rooms.
"Good morning. Today's lesson is about identifying your suspects. Identifying suspects requires observation and deduction skills. You observe the crime scene, find evidence left behind including witness testimony and then piece the puzzle together." Thursday wrote the following on the portable whiteboard behind her.
* Means
* Motive
* Opportunity
"When looking for suspects, you should consider these three things. After all, the culprit will need all three to have committed the crime. When dealing with normal criminals, this part is easy. When dealing with villains, the 'motive' may be 'because it was a day ending with Y'. Every situation is different, so I won't try to explain theories here. Let's try something something hands-on to get you thinking outside the box.
When you step through the door - you can go by yourself or with a partner or two - you are a villain for the duration of your time in that room. The room will transform itself into a new environment and there will be a valuable to steal. Think like a villain. Act like a villain. You have the opportunity, so figure out your means and motive and go to it."

In one of the attached rooms
Re: In one of the attached rooms
When she walked through the door however she found herself in a jungle and being flanked by a guy carrying a large pack.
"Dr. Smith! You dropped your whip!" he said offering Mel an old leather bullwhip.
"I don't know what you're talking about. I don't do roleplay and I'm not into kink," Mel replied.
The dangershop flunky blinked at her in bafflement. "Dr. Smith! Look the entrance to the cave we've been looking for. The idol we are looking for must be inside."
Mel sighed. Obviously she would have to play along with this. "Right. Let's go in."
Re: In one of the attached rooms
"Who is that?" Mel said peering "A friend of mine?"
"A competitor, Senor," the lackey replied.
"I'm a senorita," Mel said with a glare.
"Dr. Smith! You forgot your lucky hat and leather coat!" The lackey said handing her both.
"Why would I want to wear a hat and leather jacket in a tropical jungle?" Mel asked.
The lackey blinked again and held out the items.
"Fine!" Mel said putting on both and hooking the whip to her belt. "But I feel ridiculous."
Re: In one of the attached rooms
"Dr. Smith!"
Mel looked over her shoulder and saw a spider there. She brushed it off and turned to look at her lackey. "Turn around."
Yep. Lackey covered in spiders. Mel did quick work of knocking them off the lackey's back while he whimpered like a whimpering thing. "Geez. Quit being such a baby."
"But Senor!"
"Senorita!" Mel grumped and headed down the tunnel until she saw a weird shaft of light. "Lackey. You go first."

"Thar she be, lads! The Isla de Muerta!" The strangely familiar pirate captain laughed. "We be rich! Jes as soon as we be dockin' the Pearl. Heave to!"
Luke looked at River. "Arr?"

"I believe the cave be o'er that way," he said, starting to get into the spirit of the game. "Arr."

"It's me, Patrick!"
"I'm Sean!"
Behind them, a golden star floated in the air, blinking at them.

She was also wearing a helmet and there was a hammer inexplicably in her hand.
"Oooookay."

She was about to ask nicely for the star when she remembered she was supposed to be the Villain here.
"Give us the star or we'll... Pound you!" she said brandishing her hammer.
Re: In one of the attached rooms
He ran over to jump on Pip, who quickly dodged to the side.
"By the eyes of my fathers, where did you go? It's like they disappeared into some third dimension!"
Re: In one of the attached rooms
"Oh never mind." she shrugged and started moving toward the star.

Re: In one of the attached rooms
"Cal?" she asked. "Is something wrong?"
Hamlet attempted to put on the same greasy smile he'd seen his uncle wear. Part of him felt dirty. "No, nothing at all."
Re: In one of the attached rooms
"That necklace looks lovely on you," he said.
"Oh, thank you Cal. I haven't taken it off since you gave it to me, just like you asked." By the tone of her voice, she sounded mildly annoyed by the request.
He leaned in closer, trying to avoid the impression that he was doing it to stare at her breast. "Hmmm," he said in a disapproving tone.
She blinked in concern. "What is it?"
Re: In one of the attached rooms
The woman tried to angle her head to peer more closely at the sapphire around her neck. "Are you sure, Cal? I don't see anything." She looked at him oddly. "And you told me yourself just how valuable this is, and how I can't let it out of my sight."
"No, there's definitely something on there near the top." He patted her hand reassuringly. "Don't worry, I'll have my man take care of it, and then return it straight to you. I will make sure that nothing happened to it.
At least he assumed that this 'Cal' had a manservant. People who could afford staterooms like this often did.
Re: In one of the attached rooms
"I'll have this back in no more than an hour," he said. She turned her head, as if grudgingly expecting something, and after a minute's hesitation, Hamlet responded with a light kiss on her cheek.
Hamlet headed quickly for the door before the woman could become more suspicious, almost bumping into a blonde boy
who bore a striking resemblance to Leonardo DiCapriobefore the stateroom disappeared. He held up the necklace."Was that alright, Professor Next?"
