Today the Danger Shop wasn't set up like a classroom, it was set up like a room with chairs and viewing windows into three different rooms.

"Good morning. Today's lesson is about identifying your suspects. Identifying suspects requires observation and deduction skills. You observe the crime scene, find evidence left behind including witness testimony and then piece the puzzle together." Thursday wrote the following on the portable whiteboard behind her.

* Opportunity

"When looking for suspects, you should consider these three things. After all, the culprit will need all three to have committed the crime. When dealing with normal criminals, this part is easy. When dealing with villains, the 'motive' may be 'because it was a day ending with Y'. Every situation is different, so I won't try to explain theories here. Let's try something something hands-on to get you thinking outside the box.

When you step through the door - you can go by yourself or with a partner or two - you are a villain for the duration of your time in that room. The room will transform itself into a new environment and there will be a valuable to steal. Think like a villain. Act like a villain. You have the opportunity, so figure out your means and motive and go to it."

Luke reached behind him. "Thar be a lantern!" he confirmed, lighting it. The lantern illuminated piles and piles and piles of treasure.

"Ooooh. Shiny."

"Literally," River replied, then added: "Arr." She jumped out of the boat and began to throw gold back into it.

"Not enough to make us sink," Luke cautioned. "Um, matey." Feeling a little festive, he put a jaunty gold crown on his head, then handed another one out for River to wear.

River nodded. "It be suiting you." She placed her crown on her head and picked up a bejewelled mirror to inspect the result.

Luke grinned, then peeked into the mirror. "It does!" He smiled at River. "Ye be lookin' quite fetchin' as well."

He dumped another load of gold into their boat and looked back at her. "Ye be ready t' go?"

River nodded. "Arr." She jumped back into the boat and reached for one oar.

Luke reached for the other. "Being a pirate's not so bad," he said as they made their way out of the cave. "Nice of them t' put all o' their loot in one easily stealable place."

"Nice and easy," River agreed. "And there be no traps."

"We should send them a letter or something to tell them to fix that," Luke mused as they rowed away with someone else's treasure. "But I'm all too happy to go with the easy way this time. Traps are a pain."

"Sometimes literally," River replied. "I think we did well. Arr!"

"Arr!" Luke agreed as the program ended.

River blinked, grinning. "That was fun. A game!"

"And much better than what I had been expecting," Luke admitted. "Thanks for coming with me."

"You're welcome," River said. "We didn't have to be that bad, even."

"Well done, both of you. Villains will often use any means necessary to achieve their objective, even if that means being less bad than usual."
