When the students came in Ares was sitting at the front of the room throwing energy bolts at a number of scurrying action figures, whenever one connected he would start giggling in a most ungod-like manner.

When he finally noticed his class, Ares stood up. "Firstly, I would just like to say that anyone who wants detention for the rest of the semester just has to mention last weekend, white leather, or the L-word."

"Now that we've got that out of the way, Today we are going to be talking about Zeus and Hera, the King and Queen of the Gods, and my parents, so no disrespect from you brats."

Aphrodite	If the class had been paying any attention to Ares, they would have noticed a blonde woman appear in a brilliant flash of pink light and glitter behind him.
Ares	Ares stopped mid-sentence. "Oh, no."
Aphrodite	Which would be when the blonde tackled Ares with a hug. "Ar!" she squealed happily.
Ares	"Aphrodite," Ares replied flatly, returning the hug awkwardly. "What are you doing here?"
Aphrodite	"Visiting you silly," Aphrodite replied.
Ares	"Why right now?" Ares asked. "Can't you see I'm in the middle of class?"
Aphrodite	"I can see that," Aphrodite said and waved to the class. "Hey little dudes and babes." "That's why I'm here, I hear you were teaching a class about the fam and thought I could give my bro a hand."
Ares	"And how exactly do you propose to do that?" Ares hissed. "They're vicious little vipers who won't listen to the Goddess of Love."
Aphrodite	"You willing to bet on that?"
Ares	"Sure," Ares threw his hands in the air. "Why not?" "Kids," he pointed to the class. "This is my sister, Aphrodite, Goddess of mumble. Play nice with her."
Aphrodite	"Okay, little groovers," Aphrodite, addressed the class. "I'm Aphrodite, Goddess of Love. Now I know what you guys are thinking, how does she get her hair like that? The answer, my friends, is well, Goddess." "Now some of you dudes have the look of being weetiny warrior dudes and babe, and that's cool, but I know that there's often a perception among the sword and leather types of Love being weak," she said. "And I'm afraid that that can't be further from the truth." "Don't believe me?" she said. "Well, you've obviously never seen the results of unconstrained uncontrolled, overwhelming love, or lust as the case may be, why I remember the time someone-who-shall-remain-nameless got hold of my baby boy Cupid's arrows..." Aphrodite stopped as a wee glittery lightbulb went off over her head. "Dudes, I have has the most bodacious idea, instead of me telling you about this kind of thing, we're going to demonstrate." She turned to Ares. "Bro, you got a class list?"
Ares	From over at his desk where he'd started drinking heavily when the lightbulb went off, Ares gestured and the roster appeared in glowing letters.
Aphrodite	Aphrodite clicked her fingers a second list of names appeared next to the first. "Okay, student dudes, you see the name after yours?" Aphrodite asked. "For the rest of the class, you are madly, deeply in love and-slash-or lust with that person, and you want nothing more than to be with that person, not dirty. Okay, you're not really, but I want you all to act like you are to the best of your abilities." "Got that? Rock on."

"So should I fast forward to spelling your name on your front lawn with your favorite flower? Except while that may have seemed romantic in the movies saying out loud just kinda sounds creepy."

She studied her nail again. "Really, Billy. Like I am supposed to tell you how to go about this."

Hey nice girls were turning out to be an interesting challenge. "Isn't that part of the wooing process? Asking how I can prove my love? Cause I'll pretend to have done it, whatever it is."

Annette quirked a brow and leaned close, "No, Billy, you are supposed to have all this all worked out. But, we can pretend if you want. It's your grade."

"Well that takes all the spontaneity out." Billy complained. "You make this sound like a military exercise."

She grinned, "Okay Billy, how about you tell me how you want this to be."

Billy thought about it. "In a perfect world," he said finally. "It'd be as simple as saying, I love you. And then preferably you saying I love you too."

"...and why do I love you?"

Billy sighed. "I don't know, I'm not a romantic. I believe in love don't get me wrong but I couldn't begin to tell why people love certain people." When parents can't be bothered to raise their children and worse, who can tell?

"This exercise is all about acting, Billy. You don't need to delve into your own personal feelings about love because we both know that is not a true factor between us. This is just an assignment; pretendy-like-fun." She smiled at him. "Let's not focus on love then, Aphrodite said lust too. Let's focus on that if it will work better for you."

"Well then, take you out for a day, go wherever you want to go. Then, dinner, maybe a movie or ice cream afterwards...and maybe after, we could go back to my place."

Tilting her head, Annette said, "That all sounds nice, Billy. But is it for the sake of this class, or are you asking me out on a date for real?"

Billy thought about a good answer for that. "It's for the class. Not that I wouldn't, except that I think me and Ami is more than a one date thing."

She smiled. "Then I think whatever we're going to do for the class, should stay in the class. I wouldn't want your girl to think anything bad about me, Billy."

"And I wouldn't want her to think anything bad about me."

"No, you wouldn't." Annette smiled softly. "I don't know her, but I am sure she is really nice."

She thought for a moment. "So, what do you suggest we do here for you to get a good grade, and to not bother anyone on the outside?"

"Well we could lie but they're gods so that might not work."

"Why don't you just feed me a few lines, and we'll call it done? You're supposed to pretend anyway."

Hmm...

All right you've talked me into it!

Oh yes you gorgeous man you!

Okay try to think of something serious now.

He leaned forward to whisper in her ear;

"How about I just whisper like this and then you could say, yeah that sounds like fun, then I'll say I look forward to it."

She tilted her head and grinned as he whispered. And she said, "Yeah, that sounds like fun, Billy."

"Excellent, I look forward to it."

She was daring and said, "Maybe if you didn't have a girlfriend, we could have gone out on that date."
