When the students came in Ares was sitting at the front of the room throwing energy bolts at a number of scurrying action figures, whenever one connected he would start giggling in a most ungod-like manner.

When he finally noticed his class, Ares stood up. "Firstly, I would just like to say that anyone who wants detention for the rest of the semester just has to mention last weekend, white leather, or the L-word."

"Now that we've got that out of the way, Today we are going to be talking about Zeus and Hera, the King and Queen of the Gods, and my parents, so no disrespect from you brats."

Aphrodite	If the class had been paying any attention to Ares, they would have noticed a blonde woman appear in a brilliant flash of pink light and glitter behind him.
Ares	Ares stopped mid-sentence. "Oh, no."
Aphrodite	Which would be when the blonde tackled Ares with a hug. "Ar!" she squealed happily.
Ares	"Aphrodite," Ares replied flatly, returning the hug awkwardly. "What are you doing here?"
Aphrodite	"Visiting you silly," Aphrodite replied.
Ares	"Why right now?" Ares asked. "Can't you see I'm in the middle of class?"
Aphrodite	"I can see that," Aphrodite said and waved to the class. "Hey little dudes and babes." "That's why I'm here, I hear you were teaching a class about the fam and thought I could give my bro a hand."
Ares	"And how exactly do you propose to do that?" Ares hissed. "They're vicious little vipers who won't listen to the Goddess of Love."
Aphrodite	"You willing to bet on that?"
Ares	"Sure," Ares threw his hands in the air. "Why not?" "Kids," he pointed to the class. "This is my sister, Aphrodite, Goddess of mumble. Play nice with her."
Aphrodite	"Okay, little groovers," Aphrodite, addressed the class. "I'm Aphrodite, Goddess of Love. Now I know what you guys are thinking, how does she get her hair like that? The answer, my friends, is well, Goddess." "Now some of you dudes have the look of being weetiny warrior dudes and babe, and that's cool, but I know that there's often a perception among the sword and leather types of Love being weak," she said. "And I'm afraid that that can't be further from the truth." "Don't believe me?" she said. "Well, you've obviously never seen the results of unconstrained uncontrolled, overwhelming love, or lust as the case may be, why I remember the time someone-who-shall-remain-nameless got hold of my baby boy Cupid's arrows..." Aphrodite stopped as a wee glittery lightbulb went off over her head. "Dudes, I have has the most bodacious idea, instead of me telling you about this kind of thing, we're going to demonstrate." She turned to Ares. "Bro, you got a class list?"
Ares	From over at his desk where he'd started drinking heavily when the lightbulb went off, Ares gestured and the roster appeared in glowing letters.
Aphrodite	Aphrodite clicked her fingers a second list of names appeared next to the first. "Okay, student dudes, you see the name after yours?" Aphrodite asked. "For the rest of the class, you are madly, deeply in love and-slash-or lust with that person, and you want nothing more than to be with that person, not dirty. Okay, you're not really, but I want you all to act like you are to the best of your abilities." "Got that? Rock on."

Jack followed her, and the grin was starting to sneak out. "Only because you've blinded me," a snicker, quickly caught, "blinded me with your," another snicker, and he started to laugh. "Your beauty," he managed to finish as he put his head down on her knee. "I'm sorry, I just can't keep going."

"Should I be offended?" Sam teased.

"Oh, terribly," he deadpanned, tilting his head to grin up at her, eyes gleaming. "I should be able to reel out endless sickeningly sweet praise in your honour. I've failed you. How can I possibly atone?"

Sam bit her tongue and shrugged, figuring Jack got enough ideas on his own and didn't need the help.

"Does that man you want me to use my imagination?" he asked, smiling wickedly. "Because that could be fun."

Sam swallowed hard and wondered what she was getting herself into. "I've always appreciated a man with a good imagination."

"Now that I do know," Jack murmured, sitting back on his heels. "Everything that comes to mind is," he looked up at the ceiling, smiling innocently, "inappropriate for class. But if you'll take a rain cheque..." He met her eyes. "There's still the hammock to be tried."

Sam was blushing, and blushing hard. "I could be persuaded. Think we could get extra credit?"

"From Ares? I'd guarantee it. But I think he'd want details. Detailed details. And I don't intend to share those." A blushing Sam was a Sam completely irresistible to Jack, though he managed to stop himself from doing anything other than squeezing her knee. "How can I persuade you?"

"Yeah, that's a big no on that," Sam shook her head, "and...I don't know that my ideas will be any better or more class-appropriate than yours."

Jack looked incredibly smug at that. "I think I've fulfilled my class obligations - act like I'm deeply in love slash lush with you, which was surprisingly easy - anything else can be extracurricular."

"The assignment really isn't fair to Molly," Sam frowned. "Someone should be adoring her, and she shouldn't have to compete with you."

"I could go and adore Molly," he offered helpfully. "I could adore her while she adored you. It's got a nice synchronicity. And hey! What about me? No one's adoring me. How come you're not upset about that?"

"You should," Sam decided, "and you get enough adoration for six people."

"Hmmph." But Jack didn't look at all upset, he actually looked quite pleased with himself.

"If you're running low on adoration, I'm sure Cedric or I could arrange something..." She winked at him.

"You know me." Jack grinned. "I'll never say no to that."

Sam grinned back. "That's definitely the rumor."

"People have been spreading rumours about me?" Jack feigned shock. "Shy and innocent me?"

Sam snickered. "You wouldn't know shy and innocent if it walked by you in white lace and pure cotton underwear."

"True. But if it did, I'd do my best to get to know it," he laughed. "Doubt it'd stay shy and innocent for long."

Sam just rolled her eyes at him. "It's overrated."

"See, now I'm trying to picture you as shy and innocent. I can manage the innocent, but the shy? Not so much." He made a show of studying her, then leaned closer and whispered, "I am having a lot of success picturing you in lace and pure cotton underwear, though. And that's not overrated."

"I was ridiculously shy," Sam admitted. "To the point where people thought I was stuck up."

Then she blushed hard. "I...hmmm."

"I can't imagine that." Jack glanced around and, seeing no one was really paying attention, rose up to his knees and kissed her. "But you are so cute when you blush."
