"Well, Ardala was certainly interesting," Ellie said as class began. "But we've managed to get her off the island, and there have been no signs of space pirate violence. Today our guest will be someone who may be familiar to you and certainly more friendly. I've invited Ms. Kaylee Frye to tell us about life in the -- I believe it's the 25th century?"

Ellie gave Z a look of alarm. "Kidnapped by evil aliens from the future? Do you think they'd give a speech to the class? But you're all right now?"

She made a note in her attendance book. "I think that counts as an excused absence."
