Extraterrestrial Civilizations - Class 3 [1/24, Period 4]

"Well, Ardala was certainly interesting," Ellie said as class began. "But we've managed to get her off the island, and there have been no signs of space pirate violence. Today our guest will be someone who may be familiar to you and certainly more friendly. I've invited Ms. Kaylee Frye to tell us about life in the -- I believe it's the 25th century?"

"Hello!" Kaylee greeted cheerfully. "I'm Kaylee as some of you know. I am indeed from really far in the future where I lived on a space ship called Serenity."

She went on to talk about traveling to different worlds. "So, if you got any questions, I'll try to have answers for ya."

[ooc: Not much is known about Kaylee's home world in canon, so, if there are any questions about it, I'd be happy to make stuff up. ;)]

Gwynn waves happily at Kaylee.

Kaylee waved back.

"How long does the traveling take?" Kyo asked. "How big is your ship?"

"It's firefly class, so it ain't as big as other ships," Kaylee explained. "Depends on where we're goin' I s'pose. There are ships that are faster, but Serenity's much faster than the flyin' machines here on earth."

Stark offered Kaylee a grin. Yes, this speaker was much better than the last one.

"Kaylee, do you have a favorite place you've visited?" Stark asked. "And do have any pictures of your ship?"

Kaylee smiled back at Stark. "I think I got a picture back in my room."

She had to think about the other question for a moment. "There's lots of places I liked, but Persephone is one my favorites. There are nice shops there and the strawberries are good," Kaylee explained. "I like it here a lot too."

"Here is good," Stark agreed. "You should show me sometime, the ship."

Kaylee nodded. "I will, definitely."

Maia grinned at her and did a little wave of hello back because she had greeted the class so cheerfully. "Do you have Narn's where you're from? It's sort of like a lizard looking alien with red eyes." She added quickly in case they were called something else where Kaylee was from.

"I don't think so," Kaylee replied. "Only lizard lookin' things I saw were actual lizards. Not aliens."

Chatting, note passing, etc.

Gwynn is taking notes... no really.

"Ma'am?" Z asked. "I'm sorry I wasn't here last week. I'd been. Um. Kidnapped by evil aliens. From the future."

Ellie gave Z a look of alarm. "Kidnapped by evil aliens from the future? ~~Do you think they'd give a speech to the class?~~ But you're all right now?"

She made a note in her attendance book. "I think that counts as an excused absence."

"Um, yeah. I'm fine now. I bounce back quick. ~~Probably. 'Have you accepted the Magnificence as your personal savior today?'~~ Thank you!"
