Abby welcomed students into the danger shop with the box of lab coats as usual. "Afternoon, guys! We've got a lot to do before we head to the crime scene so lets get cracking."

Walking over to a chart, Abby explained the human ABO blood type system and how to test blood to determine it's type. "Each lab station is going to be set up with this testing equipment." She held up test strips, droppers and the antigens for blood testing. "It's easy. Drop the blood on the strips, add the antigens and see if they react. If the blood reacts to the A antigen it's A blood, if it reacts to A and B antigen it's AB blood, etc. Then do a RH test and to see whether the blood is positive or negative."

Abby walked over to a large block of gray clay that had several knifes sticking out of it at all angles. Grabbing a large knife, she drew it out and then plunged it back into the clay quickly. "This is forensics clay. You're going to stab it today to see what sort of wound different objects make. Match the wound in the clay to the wound in the victim and you've found your murder weapon."

"Now, let's get to the fun stuff!" Abby moved to open a door onto the crime scene, an upscale study that held, among other things, a deceased Molly Hayes, laying across a couch. "Police found Molly during a party at a very ritzy house and detained the other guests. They need you to figure out how she died, what was used to kill her and who did it."

"Also..." Abby looked around the room for Broots. "Just to make things clear, the dead people aren't really dead. The blood isn't real and the bad guys are figments of the danger shop's imagination."

"Now, get to work!"

Cassie was doing her own work with one of the umbrellas, and gave Mac a wave.

Mac waved back, still holding the letter opener she was moulding. She then quickly put it back down realising that waving sharp things around was probably a bad idea. "Cassie, right?"

"Yeah," she said. "You're... I want to say Mark, and that can't be right."

"Uh, not quite," Mac replied giving her head a little shake. "Mac. You were close, though. Points for trying."

"Don't know where the extra syllable came from," Cassie said. "How's stuff?"

"Stuff... goes great. Really great," she said, smiling at Cassie as she fiddled with her potential weapon. "And? I got to practice espionage earlier this morning, and stab clay now. A big 180 degree swing from last week."

Cassie nodded. "Stuff's good here, too. Heard you were at my friend's half-naked party."

"I was the not-naked half," Mac said.

Cassie gigglesnorted. "Not an exhibitionist like the rest of the school?"

"Not so much, no," Mac replied with a little chuckle as she stabbed her piece of clay. "I have my ways of getting out of forced public nudity."

"You do?" Cassie asked. "This I have to hear."

Mac looked at her for a moment, then smirked back down at what she was doing. "They probably wouldn't work for you in quite the same way," she said while she examined her mold.

Cassie raised an eyebrow. "It wouldn't?"

"My girlfriend helped plan the party," Mac said. "Getting her to bend the rules for me wasn't all that hard."

"Oh. Oh," Cassie said, because she is champion of subtlety. "Girlfriend. Got it."

Mac grinned at her. "I'm sure there are other ways to go about it, though," she continued.

"I'm good with avoiding those parties," Cassie said. "I mean, unless someone asks me to go. Then I kind of have to."

"Not really my scene," Mac admitted. "But if Cally wants me to go, I go. I'm not that good at saying no to her."

"Is somebody whipped?" Cassie teased.

Mac compared her photo with her indent, and answered with an absent, "No."

"I got her to change party rules, remember," she continued, putting the photo back down when she didn't get a match and smiling at Cassie.

"Good point," Cassie said. "I've... not met her."

"I'm sure you'll ~~probably never~~ meet," Mac said picking up a piece of lead pipe instead. That looked more hopeful.

Cassie nodded. "Yeah," she said, going back to her tests.

"I'm really glad I've learned to wait to eat lunch after this class."
