Sam came to open the library, in probably the best mood he'd been in in a long time.

His mood was so good, in fact, that he wasn't even particularly bothered by finding that half of the items on the main desk had turned into pies.

Sam was really resisting the apple pie at the moment, unsure of what would happen to his stomach once it became a pencil sharpener again.

He started moving the pies off to one of the tables, in the hope that the smell wouldn't get to him.

It really didn't help that for every pie he moved, two more things on the desk changed.

By the time some of the books started turning into pies, Sam gave up the fight, and just hoped that no one would be needing to research Roman History any time soon.

The library is closed for lunch, unless you're the librarian or an aide.

Sam stuck a note on the desk that read, "FALSE PIES. EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK!" before going to talk to his dad.

Sam was just thankful that the computer hadn't been turned into anything, so he could send out some e-mails.

The pies were now taking up two tables, and Sam was really starting to wish he'd eaten more for lunch.

Sam cleaned up all of the non-pie occupied areas before closing the library for the day.

...I'm totally going to end up buying pie before this day is over. *sigh*

Feeling up to talking with Sam, Peter swung by the library after Superheroing. He had a lot on his mind. A lot of questions he wanted to ask.

As for example:

"Hey, Sam. Did that book just turn into a pie?"

Sam followed Peter's line of sight and sighed, going over to grab the pie and add it to the growing pile.

"I swear, if I start seeing people turn into pies, I'm running for the mainland."

"...that's a possibility?"

Ami came into the library after her class and lunch. Nodding to Sam she went to a table giving an odd look to the pies. She pulled out a book, her computer and started work.

Turtle frowned as she came into the library. "I'm thinking it's safe to assume that the likelihood of the book I need not being a pie right now is slim to none. And that there is no guarantee that I would get much use out of it if it hasn't yet, because it soon will..."

"After this weekend? And previous weirdnesses that I've witnessed? I don't think anything is out of the realm of possibility. Uh, not that you should worry or anything," he added quickly.

"Now I'm having a Barbara Walters moment," Peter said, leaning against the counter. "If I was a pie, what kind of pie would I be?"

Sam smirked. "There are still some books that are, you know, books. I'd say look now while there's still a chance."

Turtle drew in a deep breath. She didn't have much time, then, before she could find herself studying the working of a lemon merange pie. "Okay, then," she nodded, steeling herself. "Where might I find some Polish-English dictionaries?"

Sam gave Ami a little wave and moved some of the pies out of her way, grumbling under his breath about fruit filling.

"Maybe an apple pie? Something nice and wholesome?" Sam suggested. "I'd probably be full of nuts."

"Where did all the pie come from?" She had somehow missed the morning announcements.

Peter's smile turned a little wry at that. "Yeah... about that. You know anything about demon stuff and families?"

Sam's grin faded a little as well. "Yeah. More than I want to know, to be honest. Why do you ask?"

"The language dictionaries are all back there," Sam said, pointing to the appropriate bookshelf. "I think that area might be relatively untouched, for the moment."

Peter leaned in so they could have a little privacy. "Just... something Nathan said last night got me thinking."
