Today Emma is in diamond shape. She has listened to the radio and has no wish to be overwhelmed by traumatized minds, thank you very much.

The desks are covered with yarn in a variety of colours and styles, knitting needles and papers with instructions written down on.

"Today we begin Operation: Knit a Scarf," Emma announced. "At the end of this class, you can either choose to take your knitting with you, or leave it in your box. Either way I want to see a scarf in a fortnight. One you can comfortably tie around your neck."

Dean looked dubiously at the instructions and the supplies and wondered if they couldn't go back to cooking -- that at least he knew he could handle. Knitting... yeah. This was going to be interesting.

He finally chose some fuzzy black yarn and tentatively started to try and cast on, telling himself that it was just a bunch of knots and those he had experience with.

"Oooh, school-sanctioned stakes!" Dawn was very happy to have wooden knitting needles, not that she wouldn't be beaming ridiculously anyway. "Best day ever."

The knitting...well, that was a different story. The pretty blue (http://store.knitting-warehouse.com/yarn-bernat-masala.html) yarn kept sliding off the needles.

"There was actually very little groveling, though the roses were extra nice," Dawn grinned dopily, "and he was a bit over-rehearsed, but adorable anyway."
