Home Economics, Tuesday, period 1

Today Emma is in diamond shape. She has listened to the radio and has no wish to be overwhelmed by traumatized minds, thank you very much.

The desks are covered with yarn in a variety of colours and styles, knitting needles and papers with instructions written down on.

"Today we begin Operation: Knit a Scarf," Emma announced. "At the end of this class, you can either choose to take your knitting with you, or leave it in your box. Either way I want to see a scarf in a fortnight. One you can comfortably tie around your neck."

ooc: wait for the ocd is up. Knitting time!

Knitting was easy. River had soon made up a complicated pattern in pink and purple, suitable for a scarf.

Standing at her desk, Annette rubbed the soft, pink fuzzy yarn against her cheek while she read over the instructions.

She would definitely need the instructions. Still, she wondered how the heck she was going to make anything that looked like anything. Seemed impossible.

John did not do well with this. At all. He tied knots into his yarn, ripped the yarn and got tangled in the yarn.

He started thinking in curse words. Loud ones.

Stark was kind of hopeless at the knitting. Or very hopeless, possibly. He might get the hang of it eventually, but for now he was just glaring at the nice fuzzy yarn as if it were somehow at fault.

Setsuna had a little trouble getting the whole thing started, but, once that was over, she found the work to be pretty easy. All that knitting she'd done inexplicetely for last years Mahorafest was coming back to her.

The scarf she was working on was yellow, because the scarf she was working on wasn't for her. She already had a nice (if overly long) kint-scarf, and it was time to return the favour. Coincidently with something that could very easily cover up embarrassing marks left by leather collars.

Peter looked from the instructions to the needles to the heavier blue yarn he'd found back to the instructions and on to the needles, then the yarn again.

When he started to try to get the yarn onto the needles, problems occurred. And soon there was a Peter, hands and needles tangled up in a lot of heavier blue yarn.

Okay, Aeryn's just going to stare a lot at the needles and yard for a while and reconsider that whole leaving the Peacekeepers thing.

Tyler took some camouflage yarn (http://store.knitting-warehouse.com/303550.html) and began trying to knit.

He wasn't very fast, but he was meticulous enough that he was actually knitting. At this rate, he should have a scarf, say, by Easter.

Tyler glanced at Peter out of the corner of one eye. He hoped he had somehow blocked the kiss, or at least not recognized Tyler.

Peter was totally too busy staring at the yarn and trying to get untangled to notice Tyler and blush a lot. Really.

Nothing had happened, so Tyler had no idea why Peter was blushing. Really.

Exactly, nothing whatsoever happened. Nice weekend with a book.

And there was blushing because Peter's hands were tied to the darn needles.
