Fitness - Monday January 22nd - 3rd period

It had been a long weekend, and it showed on Yondaime’s face. He took a deep breath and forced it all down as he smiled brightly at the class. "Good Morning, I hope everyone’s weekend was uneventful," the blond chuckled. "This morning we are going to start off running through our first real lesson, which will be the basics of jujutsu. We’ll be running through it all this week and next so I’d like you to all come prepared for a work out. If you need to run to change please do so now, but I’d like you back in 15 minutes."

He continued once everyone had returned. "I decided to start us off with jujutsu because it covers a wide range of attacks and techniques that the other fighting styles expand from, including taijutsu from my home and the weapons work that we’re going to cover at the end of the semester. For today, we’re going to go over the basics of blocking and striking." Yondaime set down the quarterstaff and walked in front of the class, motioning for all of them to stand up.

"In jujutsu and most martial arts, the strike is also referred to as Atemi, a movement or attack designed to throw your opponent off balance in preparation to do a joint lock or a throw. Some strikes to vulnerable points of the body, however, can and are meant to injure. The point over all is to take your opponent down. You want to be able to capitalize on your opponent’s movements, looking for an opening to take them down, but at the same time defending your own vulnerable spots."

He clapped his hands with a bright smile. "Let’s warm up and then I want you to break into teams of two and watch my instruction, for blocking and attacking. We’re going to be spending the rest of the class just working on your own and practicing."

"I'd like you all to run 3 laps around the gym. One regular, one with knee ups and the third with buttkickers. Once you've done that, please go through 5 sets of jumping jacks, push ups and sit ups."

Pip wrapped his braid around his shoulders to keep it out of the way, then took off.

And was pleased to see that he was entirely in good enough shape to pull this off without undo effort.

Kyo cracked his knuckles and, with a wide grin, took off.

Edward enjoyed running quite a bit, even if he was off-kilter. Three laps was a walk in the park.

Running! This was definately something Sakura could do. She couldn't help but feel a little nagging something whenever she looked at Yondaime, but she ignored it and ran the laps she was required.

She was glad she'd been smart enough to wear fitness-friendly clothes.

Yondaime called Kabuto up to the front of the class. "First lets start with defending. The basic defensive stance is holding the forearms up in a shield like position to protect the vitals of your face an abdomen." He said, holding his arms together in front of his face, nodding to Kabuto to try and attack. Kabuto rolled his eyes and smirked, attacking harder than was probably needed towards the hokage's side, but Yondaime managed to block him... barely. "As you see, with this defensive pose, it's easy to move to block whatever target your opponent is trying to attack." He relaxed. "Now please break up into teams of two and try it yourselves."

Edward loitered around, trying not to crack his knuckles in anticipation.

Kyo tapped him on the shoulder. "Wanna try?"

Edward stretched his arms out in front of him, sizing his opponent up. "Sure. I'll even go easy on ya."

Kyo gave him a savage smile. "Don't you mean it the other way around, pipsqueak?"

"PIPSQUEAK?!" Edward shrieked. "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU CALLING A PIPSQUEAK, YOU OVERSIZED CARROT?!" He launched a quick left hook in the other boy's direction.

Kyo laughed in surprise and blocked the punch with one hand (thus, fulfilling the assignment, in his own mind). Then he grabbed the alchemist's fist, and prepared to throw Edward over his shoulder.

"KYOU!" Yondaime shouted in warning before he could throw Ed.

Crap.

"Sir!"

"Leave the throwing until next week!" He warned, making sure to keep a close eye on their fight. "I want you to switch positions, one attacking and the other defending. I don't think I need to remind you boys we are not attacking to cause harm."

"Yes, sir!"

Bored, Kabuto crossed his arms as he took over watching Kyo and Ed. "...I think you should go full out." And that way, maybe they'd kill each other and make his job easier.

Yondaime responded by smacking Kabuto on the back of the head. "No, follow the lesson plan and ignore the bloodthirsty one."

Kabuto might have yelped a little. In any case, he did glare at Yondaime. "What? Lord Orochimaru always lets them duel to the death."

To answer or not to answer. "Do I seriously make you think of Orochimaru!?!?" He spazzed. Answer.

"..." Kabuto shrugged, then grinned. "Sometimes."

"I do not hisssss my 's's." He grumped and crossed his arms. Really out of all the things he could have said that he didn't have in common with the creepy snake man he said that one. Really, he was still recoving from this weekend and it was obvious.

Kabuto raised both eyebrows. "...Neither does he. So, in fact, you have that in common." Toying with Yondaime was fun.

Yondaime grumped a moment and then thought. "I still have my original body!" HA! Kabuto couldn't beat that one!

"...That's supposed to be a good thing?" Kabuto snickered slightly. "C'mon, Uzumaki-sensei. You can do better."

"I didn't betray my entire village, family, and friends."

Kabuto ticked things off on his fingers. "No family, no friends - and really, what importance does a village have without anyone to hold you there?"

Kabuto fell back as instructed, trying to keep the smug grin off his face and failing miserably.

Yondaime glanced back at Kabuto with an arched eyebrow. "What?"

"Nothing. Nothing at all." With THAT expression? Liiiiiiaaaaar.

"All right then," he nodded to Sakura and Pip. "Why don't you help those two work out while I keep an eye on these two (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/1197290.html?thread=69451242#t69451242)?"

Kabuto nodded, though he didn't look overly thrilled by the idea. "Sure. Whatever you say, Uzumaki-sensei."

"Thank yo-" He spazzed a moment. "Wait! What did you just call me?"

Lenses flashed, and the silver-haired ninja's grin broadened. "Wow. If you were intending to cover that up, you just failed miserably."

He's here, though he probably won't comment on this weekend.

Again probably slow play cause I'm at work.

Okay, I'm back in action! (...For half an hour.)

Totally delayed, but OMG. I totally had no idea Yondaime was... wow. That makes so much sense. o__o;; I always thought he looked like Naruto... *smrt*
