Making a face at the taste of the coffee, Isabel did the next most important thing of the day. She checked her email. Two minutes later, she was on the phone (http://needsaparrot.livejournal.com/4357.html#cutid1) to the Arms.
"Things are kind of freaky," Angela said, tapping her note. "I was going to go back to Special Collections and do some research on demons, and I wasn't sure if I needed a note, so ... I got one."
Angela half-laughed from awkwardness. "On Monday someone using Marty's form kidnapped me," she said quietly. "Held me overnight. Scared me really bad. Nadia thinks it was a demon shapeshifter, which makes me even more nervous, because ... it could be anyone."
"And the same thing, person, probably beat up Cally and a few other people. We don't know if it's the same person who got Bridge and Z, too."
It took Isabel a moment to digest all of that. "Oh my god, how scary. I'm so glad you're okay." She shook her head, still boggling. "God how am I missing all of this? I need to listen to the radio more seriously or something. And you said Bridge was taken with Z? Is he okay?"
"I don't know," Angela admitted. "I haven't heard anything about them either way since yesterday. I should probably ask my roommate, she was going with the search party."
"Z was in my class earlier. And she didn't say anything about Bridge being missing so it's probably safe to assume he's okay." Isabel pulled out the dragon skin gloves. "You know the routine, put these on so you'll stay safe. Do you know what it is you're looking for?"
She pulled on the gloves and nodded. "Just something about how a human can recognize a demon. All I know is holy water, and I'm not sure that works if they aren't vampires."
"I'm the wrong person to ask," she said, pulling on her own gloves and getting out the key to Special Collections. "I'm all about how to tell if someone's an alien."
"We've mostly only had dealings with shapeshifters," Isabel said as she opened the door. "And you really can't tell if a person is a shapeshifter without an x-ray. If I remember correctly from Troll weekend, the magical books are over here."
Isabel watched for a moment but figured Angela more then knew what she was doing. "I'm going to head back out to the desk. Give me a call if you need anything."
"Good luck," she said, heading back out to the main part of the library.
Angela nodded, distracted by her reading. "Thanks."
She paged through the books for almost two hours, carefully taking notes. Eventually, eyes tired, she reshelved a volume and headed back out to the main library.
"Thanks again, Isabel," she said. "I didn't find much."
"Well, nothing we didn't know from Angel, unless we want to start doing a bunch of spells," Angela clarified. "They don't like holy water, they don't like crosses ... some of them freak out if you say 'Christo,' so I guess we could try that."

She went over to the books, crackling the gloves on her hands. "I should be out in an hour or two."

She leaned her head on her hand, a little tired. "So do you and Greg have plans for this weekend?"
Re: Afternoon - 1/20
Isabel shrugged. "I don't know. Nothing major, probably just hang out and watch a movie or something."
Re: Afternoon - 1/20
She adjusted her bag. "Anyhow, I should get going. I'll call you if I find out anything, okay?"
Re: Afternoon - 1/20
Isabel nodded. "Do that. And if you want company to watch a chick flick or something call me. I'll bring chocolate and we can hang out."
