Precisely on time, Darth Vader swept into the room and slammed the door firmly behind him.

"Today we talk about lying," he said, his masked face scanning the faces in front of him as he prowled around the classroom.

"Everyone lies," he stated flatly. "To hide things, to manipulate others, to avoid...unpleasantness." There was a definite hint of scorn in his voice at that last example. "In class today, you are required to pair up and only tell the truth." His cape whirled behind him. "And I can tell if you are not. Such disobedience will result in detention."

He paused for a moment. "And I don't believe in that axiom where if you cannot say something nice, you don't say anything at all. I do not require you to be nice. I require you to be honest." He glanced down at the student roster. "If everyone comes to class today, there will be an odd number. That final person will be interrogated by me."

He crossed his arms over his chest, his mechanical breathing the only sound for a moment. "Name. Place of birth. Classes you are taking," he barked out. "Proceed from there."

"Molly Hayes," said Molly, shaking the offered hand. "Nice to meet you, Balthier." Molly had no reason to lie so this exercise didn't worry her at all.

"Nice to meet you as well. So, how shall we start? I suppose something along the lines of perhaps telling a little about ourselves?" He smirked. Balthier took a moment, looking thoughtful as he debated on what to say. "I work with a partner who has the ears of a rabbit." And no, he wasn't lying.

Molly blinked, but accepted it as truth since they were supposed to be telling the truth. "I'm a mutant who can throw a bus," she offered. "Is your partner a rabbit?"

"A bus you say?" Balthier's eyes rose up towards his hairline. Though what he imagined as a bus and what she meant looked very different, both were very large and normally impossible for a young girl to "throw" on her own. "Very interesting. And no, Fran is not a rabbit." He did smirk at the thought. "She's what is called a Vierra, here I have a picture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Fran.jpg)," he said pulling it out of his pouch.

"Yup. A bus," Molly said then looked at the picture. "Cool! Oh, we're supposed to say where we were born and what other classes we're taking. You wanna go first?"

"Hmm, I see." Balthier seemed lost a moment in thought, before coming back to earth with a roguish smile on his face. "Yes, suppose that I can. I was born in Ivalice and I am taking Ethics, Revolutions and Folklore and Artifacts for my classes this semester." Not a lie just not really the whole truth, Ivalice was the name of his world, not the country where he was born, but Balthier didn't consider it a lie.

"I was born in Los Angeles, California and, besides Ethics, I am taking Driver's Ed, Superheroing, A class about Gods and Music," Molly said. "Where is Ivalice? I've never heard of it before."

"It's another world from what I've been able to tell." He said quite honestly. "Very different from here, but with the ~~handwave~~ research that I've done so far I've found that it might not be a different as I first thought. There are things that are similar, but very different at the same time. For example, a bus, here it is a large vehicle used for public transportation of the populace, generally ground transportation with wheels and all that. Now in my world, we have something similar, but it flies and honestly you’d be hard pressed to find ground transportation that wasn't walking or by riding a chocobo. Wheels are very old fashioned and nearly prehistoric to us; yet at the same time, we don't have television, telephones, or this worlds mass marketing of music and entertainment."

"Do you have magic there?"

"Yes, why?"

"Just curious," Molly said.
