Music is Love! [1/12] - Period Two

Those students returning to the music classroom from last semester will find that it has been transformed into what appears to be a television studio.

Right as the class bell ring the theme song beings to play and Lorne bursts onto the stage to the sound of canned applause.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome to MUSIC IS LOVE!" Lorne exclaimed. "We would have called it Fandom Idol but Fox Executives threatened to sue."

Lorne gave the camera a glaring look. "Simon Cowell? When this is over your ass is mine. And not in the fun way."

After the laugh track ends, Lorne suddenly smiles, "For those of you of you who are unfamiliar how this class works, each week you will be responsible for finding and performing a song that goes with a certain theme. This week our theme is 'JUSTICE' which just happens to go along with our fabulous guest judges: Dean the Tick and Captain Liberty!"

Lorne gestures over to the Judges table where the The Tick and Captain Liberty are sitting. Canned applause occurs.

"Now let's get things started ramped up! C'mon kids! Let's see what you got!"

[ooc2: And anyone who would like to be bitten by our surprise guest stars should do so now! :)

After they post here of course. Judges? Feel free to address the Television audience with a little bit about yourselves. (And if you want to sing before the show starts I have no problem with that)

Show us what you got! Feel free to mod any props or costumes

He's a approachable. Really.

Need song ideas? Ping me. I have at least six that would work.

Katara signed in as Katara. And wondered why everyone here was so focused on using fake names.

Zuko. He didn't need no stinking stage name.

Molly Hayes. She decided that her own name was good enough for a stage name.

Molly went up on stage and struck a heroic pose. "There's no need to fear, Underdog (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMznCs4_eB0) ~~which I am not meta-ing because everything I came up with ruined the tempo of the song~~ is here!" She announced dramatically before launching into the song.

Demyx stepped up with just himself and his sitar, adjusting the mic and playing a few chords. He had picked out a little something by Stephen Lynch.

She's here to judge, not advertise. ...Today, at least.

The Majestic Sokkalator

Door goes with her great-grandmother's name, though admittedly she fudges the pronunciation a little:

Sokka didn't know very many songs. Fortunately, he'd been entranced by the teevee box for the past week.

Sokka marched up onto the stage wrapped in a cape. He cleared his throat, tossed the cape over one shoulder, and assumed the classic "I'm gonna sing opera now" pose (one hand on his stomach, one hand up in the air grasping at the sky, head thrown back, and brow wrinkled by intense emotion). He paused for a few seconds, to heighten the drama, and then began screeching atonally:

Between Hannah Montana and her name from superhero class, Miley was pretty sure she was going to forget who she was.

Alec got up on stage and grabbed the mike. He was dressed all in black and appeared to have a long black tail ~~that he'd totally stolen from his Halloween costume~~.

"Hi there, everyone," he greeted the judges, grinning widely. "I'm Monty Cora. And I've got a little selection from The Leopard Emperor (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110357/) for you - a slightly different point of view on Justice." It's also possible Alec had been watching a few too many kids' movies.

"I know that your powers of retention

But thick as you are, pay attention

Near the middle of the verse, Alec heard a sound from behind him - like a vent opening up - and glanced back quickly in concern.

Katara listened to her brother, her eyes almost bulging out. If she'd known the phrase? Oh-em-gee-doubleyou-tee-eff would be coming to her lips right now.

Miley nodded to the judges and then started in on her song, the Job:Really Difficult theme song.

The vent had, in fact, opened up. Three gremlin heads popped out and one squeaked the next line. It wasn't in English, but anybody familiar with the song would recognize the cadence:

Apparently the gremlins were big fans of The Leopard Emperor. The three gremlins looked at Alec and waited for him to continue.
