Bridge bounces in to the library with coffee, excited to be back for the first time since break!

Door closes her eyes. And reaches. For the laptop.

This thing is such a trainwreck. Conner seriously can't look away. And the page ends, maddeningly, right in the middle of one particularly trainwrecky sentence.

"Okay, um, a little bit to the left."

Yeah. Toward the Page Down key.

Door moves her fingers a little to the left. For various factors of 'a little.'

"This doesn't feel like an off-switch."

"Well, no. But one of those annoying Yes or No boxes just popped up on the screen and I want to get rid of it first."

"I assume the answer's no." But Door dutifully presses the button ~~like a complete tool~~.

"The answer is oh my god that's nasty and how is that even physically possible?"

D'oh.

Door opens her eyes and starts to turn to glare at Conner except well, SCREEN.

"I hate you."

Speaking of things that shouldn't be physically possible, the human face shouldn't be able to contort itself in as many simultaneous ways as Conner's appears to be right now.

"I kind of hate me too at the moment."

"...Want to try that again only you close your eyes and I'll guide ~~when I wake up~~?"

"Sure, why not?" If he can get his eyelids to function ~~much like his player's which now refuse to stay open~~.

Door waits for Conner's eyes to close ~~zomgpresumptive modding~~, then finally says, "Down and to the BANANA? And a cockatiel?????"

Conner's ~~zomgpresumptivelymoddedshut~~ eyes close just in time to catch the bit about the cockatiel. Not so much with the closed, any more.

". . . dirty."

"Gotcha."

There is no cockatiel, or banana. There is only ~~Zul~~ Door closing her own eyes and darting out her hand towards the off-switch.

And there is Conner, not trying to stop her this time, because the mental images of cockatiels and bananas have just caused his brain to shut down.

So he totally forgets to give her directions.

Door opens her eyes.

To find that she hit the FULLSCREEN button.

Conner's eyes feel like they just went into fullscreen mode too.

"Oh, that's wrong on so many levels and I can't look away."

Apparently trainwreck-bad fanfic is about the most effective way of taking over the world.

Bridge finally looks up from where he's been quietly and methodically headdesking.

"Want some help?"

"....Can you erase it from our brains?" Door asks hopefully.

"I don't think my powers work like that," Bridge admits.

Boo.

"Can you get close enough to the computer to turn it off without getting sucked in?"

"I already read through it," Bridge admits sheepishly. "I think... I think I can turn off the computer without reading through it again."

Door moves away from it.

Slightly.

And closes one eye.

Bridge inches toward it. Carefully. And hits the "Power" button.

After a moment, the screen goes black and Bridge breathes a sigh of relief.

Door keeps staring at the empty screen, appalled. "I ...can still see the words."

"...it'll fade." He hopes. It's possible the story has some sort of strange power and could stay there, after all.
