Library [Monday 1-8]

As was her wont, Ms. Readman opened the library on Monday morning and settled in behind the collections desk with a nice mug of tea and a good book, ready to greet the students, who she was sure were energetic and enthused about starting a new semester, and ready to get cracking with the studying.

Sometimes, Yomiko was just a touch naive.

((New students: Unless you want to play out getting one for whatever reason, your character should have received a library card in their orientation packet. A post on the library rules in general and Special Collections in particular will be coming soonishly.

First Period

Yomiko was barely awake, but she tried to put on a chipper face for any students who showed up. The fact that her tea was triple-strength because she'd forgotten to take the tea bag out for twenty minutes helped.

Second Period

Ms. Readman's attention was absorbed by a book in what seemed to be Arabic, but she was certainly distractable.

Third Period

Ms. Readman was at the computer checking her e-mail. There seemed to be an awful lot from 'mrjoker@britishlibrary.uk' with subject lines such as "Where are you?" and "Please report immediately" and "Giant paper-eating insects???"

She deleted most of those without reading them.

Fourth Period

She was still at the computer, and starting the semester by ordering some new books for the library. She also placed a pre-order for five copies of Angelica Demesnes' next book, as they seemed to be in high demand around here.

Lunch

The library is closed for lunch to all but the librarian and library aides. Yomiko was behind her desk in her office with a staple item of her diet, leftover takeout from Ching Tai.

Fifth Period

After lunch, Yomiko remained in her office to attempt to tame the teetering towers of tomes that had somehow taken over the space. She seemed to be fighting a losing battle.

However, the door was open if anyone needed her.

Sixth Period

[agentthepaper]

An exhausted looking Ms. Readman fled her office and shut the door firmly, then sat behind the collections desk trying to ignore the ominous crashing noises occasionally coming from her office. Apparently, as long as the books weren't disturbed, it was fine. Moving them had destabilized the entire structure, and the only thing to do was wait it out.

Seventh Period

She still wasn't looking in her office. She would deal with that the next day. Maybe. Anyway, there wasn't enough time left in the day to do anything about it.
