Internet for Dummies, Wednesday 12/20, 3rd Period

Abby had moved the desks in the computer lab around so there was a clear space in the middle of the room. She was standing there, bouncing slightly and holding an air horn.

"Welcome to our final class! You guys have been awesome and I really didn't feel like writing a final test so I came up with the internet olympics. You're going to be split up into teams and compete against each other for snazzy prizes." Abby waved an hand over a table piled with electronic goodies, NCIS hats and bags and of course, Caf-Pow.

"So grab team members and get ready for the first event, the logging-on relay. First team to successfully log online wins!"

Ray tried logging on. It looked like he succeeded and then the computer crashed and decided it had to download updates.

So, Ray waited. A full two minutes later, he finally logged on.

Considering Mac is used to her permanently internet connected laptop, she's not especially patient when it comes to this kind of thing. She wrinkled her nose in disgust at the incredible slowness of AOL.

"Oh, thank God," she said when Ray finally appeared to succeed and it seemed to be doing something useful.

She then tried logging on herself. Daring, considering her last encounter with the AOL man. After the fifth password error message she was starting to get more than a little frustrated.
