Intro to 21st Century Pop Culture - Monday, Fifth Period

As the students entered the room, Lorelai handed out candy canes. Once everyone was in and settled, she began speaking.

"I want to thank you all for being such a great class. I've had a lot of fun teaching you all this semester and I hope you learned a lot that will help you get by while you're here. Today is your turn to teach me. Everyone will have a turn to give a presentation on a form of pop culture from their home time or place."

She sat back with a large cup of coffee and a tablet to take notes on the presentations.

"Um, the Underworld isn't much for real culture," Bel began uncomfortably, "but we do have a kind of reality tv show that demons like to watch. It's called 'Witch Wars.' Upper-level demons compete against each other to destroy witches for fame and glory -- and the witches' powers. And each other's powers, too, because they'll kill each other to get ahead. They use special athames that absort the powers of their victims and give them to the person wielding it. Any demon who competes has to sign a contract that their powers go to the Gamemasters if they lose."

He paused. "I never did, though. Compete I mean. Not my style." Well, this was just getting more awkward.

Evie's scribbling stuff down, and looking vaguely horrified.
