Ethics [Thursday, December 14th, 6th period]

As everyone came into class, they could see that Krycek had laid out a handout on every desk. He waited at the front of the class until everyone had taken a seat before starting, looking rather cheerful.

"Relationship ethics," he began, then spread his hands, smirking. "Yes, I'm serious. That's what my syllabus says and we're running with it. I'm sure you'll all have fun."

Krycek held up one of the handouts, paraphrasing the first part. "'A basic and trustworthy relationship that one has to another human being, that cannot necessarily be characterized in terms of any abstraction other than trust and common protection of each other's body.' And, as it says, honestly is generally considered a major focus in an ethical relationship.

"I think we all know that it's not always possible to be completely honest, 100% of the time, right? People will be people, no one's perfect, and all that. Sometimes there have to be lies, mutually acknowledged or held by one party, in order to maintain the relationship at all." Krycek remained somewhat amused as he continued. "So when, if ever, is it okay to lie to your partner? When is it okay to invade your partner's privacy? What counts as invading your partner's privacy in the first place?"

After the main discussion, Krycek pulled out a carton of eggs from behind the desk. "Now this is your final project, which will wrap up next week."

He held up one raw egg, grinning slightly. "Congratulations, kids, you're now egg-parents. You'll be caring for an egg for the next week, reports to be made in our last class of the term. I've assigned some pairs and a couple of people as single parents, so go ahead and find your partner - or come get your egg-baby if you're alone - and use the last part of the class to name your baby, decide if it's a boy or a girl, and figure out who gets custody first."

  1. John Conner/Gwynn Hood

  2. D'anna Biers/Aeryn Sun

  3. Rory Gilmore/Stark

  4. Seely Booth/Zero Hopeless-Savage

  5. Jack Harkness/Tyler Durden

  6. Sam Carter/Jamie Madrox

  7. River Tam/Alanna Trebond

  8. Belthazor/Isabel Evans

  9. Maia Rutledge

  10. Elizabeth Weir

Once everyone had split off, Krycek raised his voice for attention one last time. "So you know, I'll be listening to radio. You can't leave your egg-baby unattended - treat it just like a real baby. And don't think you can get away with breaking your egg, because I'll know. Believe me, I have my ways. So happy parenting and I'll see you all next week!"

[OOC: Wait for OCD is done! I'm going to bed now, omg, but I will be on about 9am PST and around for as much of the day as I can manage. Have fun!]

When Jack read it, he had to put a hand over his mouth to keep from laughing.

We can raise an army of mutant egg babies and take over the world? We'd pass for sure.

He smoothed the paper, folded it carefully into a replica of a paper crane, and lightly tossed it in her direction.

Sam missed the catch and had to bend down to pick up the crane.

We?

Your idea. You handle diaper duty.

Snickering again, he scribbled Does this mean you want to have mutant egg babies with me? You + me = they'll take over the universe before they're out of diapers. and threw it back.

Sam's shoulders were shaking with laughter. I'm so honored you asked! And no, no babies, mutants, eggs, or otherwise.

Deal. No babies, no diapers.

...can we still take over the world?

He was smiling very innocently as he passed it back to Sam.

Wasn't that already the plan? Sam winked at him.

Jack turned a laugh into a cough as he read it, mouthed, "Always," at Sam, then carefully folded it and tucked it into his pocket.

He was keeping it as evidence.
