Jesse is waiting to greet the students looking a wee bit sheepish. After everyone signs in, he sits on the front of his desk and looks his students over.

"Next week is the final. After I get everyone's grades up, I'm movin' on. I've learned more'n I thought I would when I decided to take a break here, and I got y'all and some of the other teachers to thank for that."

He stands up and rolls out a television set. "We're skimming Christianity for a coupla reasons, most of them havin' to do with the fact that I know firsthand which parts are lies and which aren't. Makes it hard to treat it as fairly as I've tried with the other religions we've covered."

Jesse hits play and the opening credits of "The Nativity" begins to run ~~which I'm not going to meta, cause dude, I'd have to meta the whole Bible, too~~. How did Jesse, who is definitely not a 'net piracy literate technophile, get his hands on a first run movie? Would he use the Word on some hapless mainland movie theater employee?

Would he?

Speaking over the music, he continues, "Y'all get ready for your final next week. You got the handouts, those'll cover everything you'll need to know."

Jesse'll listen to questions, he'll ignore note passing and quiet talking among yourselves, and he'll probably have a few less than charming comments about the movie. You'll have to listen hard for those.

Cally stared at the movie.

So this was what it was supposed to have been like.

Conner wasn't really paying attention to the movie; he knew all this already.

Instead, he spent the class period poking at his morpher. A lot.

Almost as a potential warning to certain popcorn warlords, Chad pulled a bunch of rubber bands out of his pocket and set them on his desk before getting comfortable to watch the film.

Nadia couldn't help smirking at that.

Like she'd start a popcorn war when the actual teacher was there and might notice? Please.

You used paper when the teacher was around.

Speaking of which, Nadia just might find a card (http://www.cafepress.com/opheliasart.81659630) flung ninja star style at her desk. Where it should hopefully land safely and without harm to the recipient.

Inside is written:

Sic the trolls on the drug cartel?

Zero deliberately sat close enough to hear the less than charming comments. And take notes.

"Heeeeyyyy," Billy said suspiciously. "They're not white."

And this was a rubber band stealthily being shot at the back of Billy's head for that comment.

*spak!*

billy turned to look where that had come from.

It just might have been the giant, slightly scowling Mexican folding his arms in front of him as he leaned forward and glared. The one with the pile of rubber bands on his desk. Yeah, the really big one.

"I was making fun of white people assuming Jesus was caucasion." Billy explained defensively. Honestly, did the big guy really think Billy was like that?

"Good."

Actually, that reminded him. "Oh dude, here." and he stretched back to hand him a card (http://www.melasdesign.com/pops/boredxmas.html). Inside it simply said:

*Grunt*

Stark watched the movie, not entirely sure what to make of it.

To break with tradition, but to keep on theme, Jesse is watching that classic movie ~~Life of Brian~~ Life of Ryan.

He has fewer comments for this movie than he did for the last one.

"You're leaving us?" Zero looked sad. She liked Jesse. And the movies.

((Shut up it's the best 'sad' icon I've got. Pretend she's seventeen.))

Jesse was surprised, but would be lying if he tried to say he wasn't somewhat gratified to see that a teenager actually cared if he stayed or went. "Yeah. I got somethin' I gotta do and someone I gotta see."

"Could you vague that up for me?" Zero asked wryly.

Jesse raised an eybrow, but gave it to her straight. He'd been 17, and it didn't feel like it was that long ago, and he'd have been pissed if someone had tried to candy coat things for him.

"Okay. I'm gonna go find God and make him answer for the shit he's let my world turn into while he went runnin' off like a fuckin' coward.

"But first, I'm gonna go find the one and only love of my life and I'm gonna tell her she was the best damned thing in it."

"Good luck with that," Zero said. "I'd say, ask God if he can arrange for things to stop invading Fandom long enough for me to graduate, except for I'm an atheist so I'm not sure how much good it'd actually do. But especially good luck with your girl." Zero was a big believer in true love. "I'll be thinking good thoughts for you."

"Dependin' on how it goes, you atheists might just have it right by the time I'm done."

He smiled at Zero's well wishes, looking slightly wistful. "Thanks for that. I just hope she will."

"I'm sure it'll all come together in the end," Zero said. "Or some bollocksy nonsense like that, as we say in my family."

"Both very, very good quests." Billy said, having overheard.

"Yeah," Jesse agreed. "I mighta got sidetracked for a while sherriffin' and teachin', but it's about time to get back to it."

"Well we'll miss you." Billy told him. "You've been a great teacher. And I'm not just saying that because we've both got eyepatches."

Ze thread, she is done.
