Yesterday's Prophecy class had left Walter in a less than festive mood. He grabbed some food, including snickerdoodles - thank you very much - and took a seat in the "smoking section" to smoke, think, and attempt revision for finals.

Nadia smiled at Walter when she spotted him, even though it meant scrapping her idea to brainstorm his Christmas present during lunch, and headed over with her food. "Hey. You know, Marty says those are made of people. On the other hand, Marty is definitely an idiot, so I think you're safe."

To show he feared no cannibalism, Walter had a bite of snickerdoodle. "Still mad at him, I see. Has he done something new to cement your opinion?"

Nadia shook her head. "Actually, I'm not. I'm just aware that he's an idiot. Talked to him last night. There he was, telling me I should talk to the counselor and everything, and he's just keeping things all bottled up and going crazy."

"Maybe he just needs to think things through on his own," Walter, king of repression, suggested.

Nadia shook her head. "You didn't see him, Walter. Heck, I've barely seen him like that. He was being dumb."

"You know him better than I do," Walter said with a shrug. T "Enlist Angela? I've found that the significant other tends to have a bit of influence in these things."

Not that either of them would know anything about that.

"He sang a verse about her being stinky during the holiday pageant. She's the one who told me to mallet him."

"Is he possessed or just stupid?"

"Stupid is the current theory. I didn't really ask him about that part, I was stuck on the whole 'you didn't tell anyone what you were doing you idiot' part."

"And what was he doing?"

"De-demonizing Bel."

"What was he going to do? Cut him in half?"

"Some potion that Piper and Veronica gave him." Nadia poked at her food. "Apparently, Marty saw Bel kill someone. So he used the potion."

"Who did he kill and why? Just killing someone isn't enough reason to try to kill him, too." Spoke the logic of the somewhat less than fully sane.

Nadia shrugged. "No idea. And he didn't kill Bel, just took the demon part out."

"So he actually succeeded?" Walter was actually more than a little incredulous. "But how can he take half of what Bel is out of him?"

"No idea. It was a potion. Which means magic. Which means I don't get it, but I guess it worked."

"But...." Walter waved his hand vaguely. "... that doesn't make sense. How is Bel acting now?"

"I haven't really seen or talked to him, and I haven't been paying much attention to the radio. I don't know."

"I haven't either. I've been trying to catch up on my revision so I can get decent marks on the finals and final projects."

He'd have to keep an eye out for Bel, though. Now he was curious.

"I'm more worried about Veronica right now. I haven't even thought about class work in weeks."

"And why are you worried about Veronica? The last you mentioned, you were mad at her because she knew what Marty was going to do and encouraged it."

"I'm still mad. As long as, you know, she's okay. I haven't been able to get ahold of her."
