The gym was already set up when people got there. There were several kick pads and focus mitts lying around. Zuko was waiting at the front of the class, scowling at the small bot that was currently humming 'Eye of the tiger'.

When everyone had entered the room, Zuko ignored the bot and spoke up. "Administration has asked me to take over classes until Yondaime returns. Apparently we're supposed to be studying about the chakra these weeks, but that's Avatar stuff and seeing how only Alfons can bend, it's a waste of time. I saw how some of you were fighting against the trolls, I think it is time that you learn how to defend yourself decently."

Zuko then launched into an explanation of how to do a front kick, center punch and the reverse backfist. When he was finished, he looked around. "Team up and practise."

"I'm not much of a morning person."

She chuckled, actually in quite a good mood this morning. "I guess not."

"So it's early." He beamed, innocent smile donned on his face. "You never answered my question."

Setsuna tilted her head. "Uh, what question?"

"How you were doing."

"Oh." Setsuna blushed a little at that. "Well. I'm doing well. How about you, Alphonse?"

"Thinking today's activities will wake me up a bit, at least," he replied. "I think they should be a piece of cake."

Setsuna seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. "Oh, good. I was worried that maybe I was being arrogant in thinking the same thing. I could do these moves in my sleep, really, but I suppose it is important to revisit the basics."

"Not everyone's been taught martial arts. They're performed slightly different from what I learned, but they shouldn't be hard to pick up on." Alphonse chuckled. "I wouldn't worry about being arrogant. If you know it, you know it."

Setsuna grinned a little. "And, hey, easy day for us, yay."

"Maybe we should consider sparing out of class again," Alphonse suggested.

Setsuna's eyes lit up a bit. "That's an excellent idea, Alphonse! I can't even remember the last time I had a good spar....or even sparred at all."

"Only once," Alphonse reminded. "The day after we pretty much attacked everyone in class with balls."

She chuckled. "That was a good class day, too. I remember now, because your brother had been insufferable, so I was spending all night practising my throws in the gym."

"I whammed on him good that day," Alphonse said proudly.

"I'm sorry that I didn't notice that particular whamming," she said, beaming slightly.

"I should demonstrate, sometime. It's not like he ever beat me in any matches we've had before."

Ego? Alphonse? Neeeeever.

"Do you and your brother spar often?"

"Here, not so much," Alphonse replied. "About twice. Back home we did it quite often."

"I'd like to see it sometime," Setsuna decided with a nod. "Some Elric-on-Elric ~~non-dirty?~~ action."

"I'll kick him out of his room eventually," Alphonse concluded. "You'll be the first to know. ~~You were totally thinking dirty.~~"

"Wait, kick him out of his room? Please don't tell me he's just as much, if not more, of a hermit than you, Alphonse. ~~And how dare you accuse me of such inappropriate thinking!~~"

"Aah... Maaaaaybe. ~~Oh, please. Do you not remember what series you came from?~~"

Setsuna couldn't help laughing a little. "Oh, God. It's genetic. ~~So they got a little carried away with Setsuna in the OVAs. They're OVAs. They don't count.~~"

Alphonse rolled his eyes playfully. "That and everything else we do. ~~... Okay, fine, I have to agree to that, because if not I would have to accept the OVAs in my series counts and... just no.~~"
