Fandom High Holiday Pageant 2006, Friday afternoon, The Auditorium
Once everyone was seated, The Tick walked out onto the stage wearing a keen tux. He was ready to celebrate the holidays in style.
"Welcome, chums, to the 2006 Fandom High Holiday Pageant! This year, we're looking to make the pageant as broad as possible, covering several different holidays with several different methods of educating us all with fun! It's Funducation, not to be confused with Funded Education!"
"On the Holiday Tree of Funducation, information is the presents, and you are the children gathered around, hoping for the Hanukkah Wii of Information, or the X-Mas-Box of Knowledge! Our volunteers are the ornaments, making sure the Tree is shiny and festive! The participating classes are the lights that illuminate with organization and color! And I," Tick said, grinning broadly, "am a jolly man in a blue suit! I am not just your Master of Ceremonies tonight, I am also your Santa of Ceremonies! So please allow me to welcome you to this year's Tree of Funducation, the Holiday Pageant!"
[OOC: Pleasewait for and then follow the OCD. There is a thread for each performance, and then a Performance and Audience sub-thread for each. Please use the subthreads. Pretty self explanatory. Everyone should know what they're doing and which thread they're doing it in, hopefully. If, for some reason, we have threads that are not pinged into as of really late Friday night, I may get creative and randomly recruit people at the last minute if it doesn't Joss them just to make sure the pageant stands as being complete.
I'd like to say thank you in advance to all of my volunteers and I can't wait to see what you put together!]

Re: Emperor's Birthday: Performance
Re: Emperor's Birthday: Performance
Along with the gong strike, the back of the stage lit up, illuminating a pretty pagoda (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pagoda) back drop.
"Once upon a time," Hikaru started off with an amused smile, Kaoru continuing the melody quietly, "there was a very powerful daimyo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daimyo) with a very beautiful daughter."

Re: Emperor's Birthday: Performance
She waited patiently for the dance to finish and the twins to introduce her fighting demonstration. Some of the urge to giggle died away, though, watching Ranma...damn it all, he did look pretty...

"The girl and the samurai spoke for the first time under that black locust. He had noticed that she took walks through the gardens often, but had never been able to speak with her." He pinged the gong softly.

Re: Emperor's Birthday: Performance
"Unfortunatly for the two, the samurai was forced into war after a few more explicit exchanges with the girl."
"You know, the kind you find in romance novels." Kaoru added with a solid nod and wink.
Hikaru struck the gong a lot harder this time, trying to give Setsuna the impression that she should do something neat right now.
Re: Emperor's Birthday: Performance
"What?" she shrieked, completely breaking the character she didn't even know she was playing, and turning to the twins with a look of red-faced incredulousness. Her hands were tight fists on her bokken and her face was quite red. "Nothing explicit happened! If I'm a samurai, I'm good, decent samurai who doesn't do expicit things to his...his...daiymo's daughter...." Her rant lost a little bit of steam as her eyes were caught on Ranma's fluttering fan and then drifted over and caught a glimpse of him there. Eeeeeeeep. Her eyes widened and she snapped her head back to the twins.
"And the war I'm going into is war against two particular, twin nations spreading foul, viscious, scandelous lies about my honourable reputation!" She swung a bokken around and settled into a threatening position toward them.
Re: Emperor's Birthday: Performance
Kaoru grabbed the base of the Shamisen and held pointed it right back at Setsuna with a smug smirk, Hikaru joining him with the gong mallet in one hand and microphone in the other.
"And they had good reason for their accusations! The samurai and the girl met under that same tree for each exchange. It wasn't hard to start rumors." Hikaru smirked, his main focus at the moment was to provoke her enough to do something interesting for their audience.
Re: Emperor's Birthday: Performance
Re: Emperor's Birthday: Performance
"I won't accept such slander! I must protect the honour of my daimyo and defend the innocence of his daughter!"
And she pulled back her bokken and charged for the twins.
...Maybe she was getting into this acting and assuming a roll thing a little more than she thought she was.

Re: Emperor's Birthday: Performance
Both twins eeped a little before leaping out of the way, one to each side in a frantic jump roll-something they'd thankfully learned from Honey-sempai. The instruments were tossed at Setsuna in place of them, Hikaru going right back to his mic once he'd gotten back to his feet.
"And we would also like to remind certain samurai that they should practice caution when they swing those things!"
Kaoru had also ended up back on his feet, remaining in a crouched position in case she decided to swing again.

Re: Emperor's Birthday: Performance
"After slaying the enemies of the twin nations," Hikaru turned to Kaoru who promptly flopped to his side and let out a rather abrupt 'ow', "the samurai met his fair maiden on the battle feild, where they exchanged words of undying love and devotion, never expecting the surprise coming toward them from the sky."
Hikaru had leapt far enough to the side of the stage that he could easily manipulate any sort of ropes tied there. "A demon attacked the two from above, aiming itself directly at the girl." He said, tugging at some of the ropes that held the typical bags of sand above a stage
Cuz all stages NEED them.Re: Emperor's Birthday: Performance
But there was something flying at her from above. Not so much flying, really, as it was falling, and her action impulses kicked back in. She swiped Ranma up her arms as she jumped back slightly wings flapping as she took flight to move them both out of the way. She set Ranma back down quickly, and dove toward 'attacking demon' with her bokken ready to strike.
