Fandom High Holiday Pageant 2006, Friday afternoon, The Auditorium

Once everyone was seated, The Tick walked out onto the stage wearing a keen tux. He was ready to celebrate the holidays in style.

"Welcome, chums, to the 2006 Fandom High Holiday Pageant! This year, we're looking to make the pageant as broad as possible, covering several different holidays with several different methods of educating us all with fun! It's Funducation, not to be confused with Funded Education!"

"On the Holiday Tree of Funducation, information is the presents, and you are the children gathered around, hoping for the Hanukkah Wii of Information, or the X-Mas-Box of Knowledge! Our volunteers are the ornaments, making sure the Tree is shiny and festive! The participating classes are the lights that illuminate with organization and color! And I," Tick said, grinning broadly, "am a jolly man in a blue suit! I am not just your Master of Ceremonies tonight, I am also your Santa of Ceremonies! So please allow me to welcome you to this year's Tree of Funducation, the Holiday Pageant!"

[OOC: Please wait for and then follow the OCD. There is a thread for each performance, and then a Performance and Audience sub-thread for each. Please use the subthreads. Pretty self explanatory. Everyone should know what they're doing and which thread they're doing it in, hopefully. If, for some reason, we have threads that are not pinged into as of really late Friday night, I may get creative and randomly recruit people at the last minute if it doesn't Joss them just to make sure the pageant stands as being complete.

I'd like to say thank you in advance to all of my volunteers and I can't wait to see what you put together!]

Add Molly to the group of people who stared at the troll dancing on the stage. This one certainly wasn't as imposing as the one she ran into.

She found a seat and watched the troll carefully for any signs that it might attack or anything.

Hey, a girl could hope.

Buffy found a seat close to Molly, and stared at the troll with much the same expression as Molly had. She was sure she could break the chair up for stakes if needed.

Molly was eyeing the stage curtains. If the troll looked like he was going to start a rampage, she thought the first thing to do was pull the curtains down on top of him. Get him disoriented so he would be easier to take down.

She caught Buffy's eye and leaned over to whisper. "Am I a bad person for hoping he gets violent because I missed out on the troll fight?"

Buffy grinned. "No. Well, maybe a little, but if you didn't get to fight at all, I think you shall be forgiven. He's looking disappointingly peaceful though."

Molly sighed wistfully as she watched the troll dance. "Yeah."

She looked over at Buffy. "How did the weekend work out for you?"

"I fought trolls," Buffy said, smiling. "And I tried to quip at them, but I don't think they got it." She frowned a little.

"Lucky!" Molly said enviously. "A troll stole my muffin and I only got one hit in before he knocked me into a wall." She pouted as she glanced back at the stage. "Maybe if I boo him he'll attack."

"Aw, you poor thing," Buffy sympathized. "I don't know. Maybe if you boo really loudly?"

Molly sighed again. "I'd probably get in trouble since he's on staff now." She crossed her arms over her chest. "Plus, he's kind of good so I'd feel bad booing him just to make him fight me, darn it."

Buffy thought about it, squinting at the troll on stage. "That would kind of make you a little evil, wouldn't it?"

Molly gave another wistful sigh and nodded. "Oh, well. This is Fandom. There's bound to be another invasion eventually."

"We can hope," Buffy nodded back. "Next time it could be aliens!" She paused and looked around the auditorium. "Well. Bad aliens. Like, really, really bad."

Molly snickered. "Just be careful who you suggest that to."

Re: Audience: Find a seat

Buffy gave her a sheepish look. "It's not that easy to remember all the time."

Molly nodded. "I know. I have the same problem at home. I have a few friends who are aliens and I just forget. I've stuck my foot in my mouth a couple times." She returned Buffy's sheepish grin.

"Really? Your world has aliens? I'm not sure if mine does. I mean, conspiracy geeks say 'yes' but there's never been anything proven. I think." Buffy tilted her head. "Then, most people don't know about vampires either, so I guess there could be aliens and I just don't know about it."

Re: Audience: Find a seat

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2006-12-08 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Molly nodded. "Yeah, it's kind of hard to deny them when your planet gets invaded kind of often. But then, my world has super heroes which I guess not a lot of people here do, so maybe my world is just different that way too."

Re: Audience: Find a seat

[identity profile] 1ordinarygirl.livejournal.com 2006-12-08 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"My world doesn't. I mean, I'd notice it if we did, I'm almost sure," Buffy said.

Re: Audience: Find a seat

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2006-12-08 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, trust me. If your world got invaded like mine did? You'd notice."

Re: Audience: Find a seat

[identity profile] 1ordinarygirl.livejournal.com 2006-12-08 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Buffy nodded. "So your world gets invaded regularly? Is there a rotating schedule or something?"

Re: Audience: Find a seat

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2006-12-08 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Molly shrugged. "It almost always happens in New York or someplace out there so I ignore most of it. You just hear about stuff getting shot up because there are aliens again."

"Huh. Maybe they're lying and it's really vampires."

"Ooo! Crossover! They just shoot at people as far as I've heard. They don't ever try and suck their blood."
