Fandom High Holiday Pageant 2006, Friday afternoon, The Auditorium

Once everyone was seated, The Tick walked out onto the stage wearing a keen tux. He was ready to celebrate the holidays in style.

"Welcome, chums, to the 2006 Fandom High Holiday Pageant! This year, we're looking to make the pageant as broad as possible, covering several different holidays with several different methods of educating us all with fun! It's Funducation, not to be confused with Funded Education!"

"On the Holiday Tree of Funducation, information is the presents, and you are the children gathered around, hoping for the Hanukkah Wii of Information, or the X-Mas-Box of Knowledge! Our volunteers are the ornaments, making sure the Tree is shiny and festive! The participating classes are the lights that illuminate with organization and color! And I," Tick said, grinning broadly, "am a jolly man in a blue suit! I am not just your Master of Ceremonies tonight, I am also your Santa of Ceremonies! So please allow me to welcome you to this year's Tree of Funducation, the Holiday Pageant!"

[OOC: Please wait for and then follow the OCD. There is a thread for each performance, and then a Performance and Audience sub-thread for each. Please use the subthreads. Pretty self explanatory. Everyone should know what they're doing and which thread they're doing it in, hopefully. If, for some reason, we have threads that are not pinged into as of really late Friday night, I may get creative and randomly recruit people at the last minute if it doesn't Joss them just to make sure the pageant stands as being complete.

I'd like to say thank you in advance to all of my volunteers and I can't wait to see what you put together!]

Nadia was there, doing her dancing with one arm thing. Sauciest, latinest Sugar Plum Fairies EVER.

Except for Willow, who looked as though she was only out on stage because someone had shoved her there - and it was entirely possible there was a good reason why she looked like that.

She stood there, stock still, lights in her eyes, and stared.

It was possible she'd forgotten how to breathe.

El almost danced over to Willow as he continued to play on his guitar.

"Willow! Are you alright?"

To say that Willow looked like a deer in headlights was to vastly underestimate the amount of her terror.

After all, at least deers had the certain knowledge that their misery was going to be over fairly soon.

El elbowed her gently. "Feel the dance, Willow. THey aren't there! This couldn't be worse than trolls."

"Does that mean I can kill them?" Willow asked, meaning the audience.

"No," El responded. "Even if they boo. Because if they boo, it's their own miserable loss. You let me worry about the booing and the heckling. That's my job. You just worry about the applause."

"Can I kill myself?" Willow asked, always happy to have a plan B.

"At least you still have both your shoes!" Pippi chimed as she danced past.

Nadia noticed. And danced her way over to nudge Willow with her good shoulder.

"This would be what we've been practicing for,"

Willow gaped, her mouth opening and closing like a fish.

"Do you need help?"

"I - I - " Willow swallowed. She looked like she was ready to pass out.

And then...

"OH, RULER OF MY COUNTRY, OEDIPUS, YOU SEE OUR COMPANY OF - UM - SUGAR PLUM FAIRIES AROUND THE ALTER, OR POSSIBLY THE MENORAH BECAUSE I DON'T SEE ANY REASON FOR SUGAR PLUM FAIRIES TO BE SPECIFIC TO ONE RELIGION!

"AND - UM - THEY PROPHESIZE THAT YOU SHOULD KILL YOUR FATHER, BUT IF YOU'VE BEEN VERY GOOD THIS YEAR MAYBE SANTA WILL BRING YOU A PLAYSTATION INSTEAD AND THAT WAY YOU CAN AVOID THE COAL OF HAVING TO SLEEP WITH YOUR MOTHER, WHICH IS NOT IN ANY WAY A RACIAL JOKE I SWEAR!"

Nadia danced slowly away, looking a little bit afeared. "Right. You do that, Willow."

Re: Dance: Performance

[identity profile] willbedone.livejournal.com 2006-12-08 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Willow found she couldn't stop herself.

"OH OEDIPUS, OEDIPUS, UNHAPPY OEDIPUS, THAT IS ALL I CAN CALL YOU. WHICH IS VERY UNFORTUNATE BECAUSE IT IMPLIES I CAN'T REMEMBER THE REST OF YOUR NAME, WHICH IS TO SAY NOTHING OF HOW ADDING 'UNHAPPY' CAN'T BE HELPING YOU ANY BECAUSE EVERYONE KNOWS THAT LABELING IS DISABLING.

"WHICH - UH - WOULD BE A BAD THING TO DO DURING THE HOLIDAYS. OR ANY OTHER TIME OF YEAR. BUT IT'S THE HOLIDAYS NOW SO WE'LL FOCUS ON THAT FOR THE MOMENT."

Pippi is also there, Dancing with both arms.

Lana is there, but not really moving much due to the dizziness, falling over and losing her lunch factor.

Yikes. Poor Willow. Molly winced in sympathy, but couldn't help the sputter of laughter at the speech she gave.

Jude applauded wildly for Willow.

And yeah, a little wildly for Nadia, too.

Billy learned that it was possible to choke on a laugh. He also gave his fellow dance students a standing ovation.

Jaye started giggling at "crack some nuts" as she is twelve, and then kept going throughout the whole thing. She does feel a tiny bit bad for Willow, but by then she's got the giggles and is afraid she'll only stop laughing when she passes out from lack of oxygen.

Peter felt really bad for Willow. He expressed this by laughing a lot, but in a concerned fashion.
