Fandom High Holiday Pageant 2006, Friday afternoon, The Auditorium

Once everyone was seated, The Tick walked out onto the stage wearing a keen tux. He was ready to celebrate the holidays in style.

"Welcome, chums, to the 2006 Fandom High Holiday Pageant! This year, we're looking to make the pageant as broad as possible, covering several different holidays with several different methods of educating us all with fun! It's Funducation, not to be confused with Funded Education!"

"On the Holiday Tree of Funducation, information is the presents, and you are the children gathered around, hoping for the Hanukkah Wii of Information, or the X-Mas-Box of Knowledge! Our volunteers are the ornaments, making sure the Tree is shiny and festive! The participating classes are the lights that illuminate with organization and color! And I," Tick said, grinning broadly, "am a jolly man in a blue suit! I am not just your Master of Ceremonies tonight, I am also your Santa of Ceremonies! So please allow me to welcome you to this year's Tree of Funducation, the Holiday Pageant!"

[OOC: Please wait for and then follow the OCD. There is a thread for each performance, and then a Performance and Audience sub-thread for each. Please use the subthreads. Pretty self explanatory. Everyone should know what they're doing and which thread they're doing it in, hopefully. If, for some reason, we have threads that are not pinged into as of really late Friday night, I may get creative and randomly recruit people at the last minute if it doesn't Joss them just to make sure the pageant stands as being complete.

I'd like to say thank you in advance to all of my volunteers and I can't wait to see what you put together!]

Willow gaped, her mouth opening and closing like a fish.

"Do you need help?"

"I - I - " Willow swallowed. She looked like she was ready to pass out.

And then...

"OH, RULER OF MY COUNTRY, OEDIPUS, YOU SEE OUR COMPANY OF - UM - SUGAR PLUM FAIRIES AROUND THE ALTER, OR POSSIBLY THE MENORAH BECAUSE I DON'T SEE ANY REASON FOR SUGAR PLUM FAIRIES TO BE SPECIFIC TO ONE RELIGION!

"AND - UM - THEY PROPHESIZE THAT YOU SHOULD KILL YOUR FATHER, BUT IF YOU'VE BEEN VERY GOOD THIS YEAR MAYBE SANTA WILL BRING YOU A PLAYSTATION INSTEAD AND THAT WAY YOU CAN AVOID THE COAL OF HAVING TO SLEEP WITH YOUR MOTHER, WHICH IS NOT IN ANY WAY A RACIAL JOKE I SWEAR!"

Nadia danced slowly away, looking a little bit afeared. "Right. You do that, Willow."

Willow found she couldn't stop herself.

"OH OEDIPUS, OEDIPUS, UNHAPPY OEDIPUS, THAT IS ALL I CAN CALL YOU. WHICH IS VERY UNFORTUNATE BECAUSE IT IMPLIES I CAN'T REMEMBER THE REST OF YOUR NAME, WHICH IS TO SAY NOTHING OF HOW ADDING 'UNHAPPY' CAN'T BE HELPING YOU ANY BECAUSE EVERYONE KNOWS THAT LABELING IS DISABLING.

"WHICH - UH - WOULD BE A BAD THING TO DO DURING THE HOLIDAYS. OR ANY OTHER TIME OF YEAR. BUT IT'S THE HOLIDAYS NOW SO WE'LL FOCUS ON THAT FOR THE MOMENT."

They were supposed to have a giant hook backstage for these purposes, weren't they? To yank the person off the stage? Nadia started peering into the wings to see if she could see it.

Walter blinked in bemusement at Willow's rather interesting choice of not dancing activity.

"Psst. Willow. Dance partner?"

Willow was too lost in the moment.

"DARKNESS! AND HORROR OF DARKNESS UNFOLDING, ONLY NOT NEARLY FAST ENOUGH BECAUSE I'M STILL SEEING WHITE SPOTS IN FRONT OF MY EYES, OR POSSIBLY THOSE ARE THE LIGHTS OFF OF THE KAWANZAA DECORATIONS, WHICH THEMSELVES ARE CERTAINLY NOT SPED BY AN ILL WIND BECAUSE IT'S A VERY NICE HOLIDAY WHICH GETS COMPLIMENTS FROM ME FOR HAVING A CANDLE MOTIF. UM. IN HASTE."

And then, as if reminded that this was an option, Willow fled the stage.

Willow was going to need a lot of Snoopy dancing after this.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled dancing. "... two, three, and one... "

Pippi gets confused and starts Snoopy dancing.

Walter wasn't confused, but what the hell, Snoopy dancing wasn't any odder than what he'd already been doing, and Pippi needed company.

So he started Snoopy dancing, too.
