Once everyone was seated, The Tick walked out onto the stage wearing a keen tux. He was ready to celebrate the holidays in style.

"Welcome, chums, to the 2006 Fandom High Holiday Pageant! This year, we're looking to make the pageant as broad as possible, covering several different holidays with several different methods of educating us all with fun! It's Funducation, not to be confused with Funded Education!"

"On the Holiday Tree of Funducation, information is the presents, and you are the children gathered around, hoping for the Hanukkah Wii of Information, or the X-Mas-Box of Knowledge! Our volunteers are the ornaments, making sure the Tree is shiny and festive! The participating classes are the lights that illuminate with organization and color! And I," Tick said, grinning broadly, "am a jolly man in a blue suit! I am not just your Master of Ceremonies tonight, I am also your Santa of Ceremonies! So please allow me to welcome you to this year's Tree of Funducation, the Holiday Pageant!"

[OOC: Please ~~wait for and then~~ follow the OCD. There is a thread for each performance, and then a Performance and Audience sub-thread for each. Please use the subthreads. Pretty self explanatory. Everyone should know what they're doing and which thread they're doing it in, hopefully. If, for some reason, we have threads that are not pinged into as of really late Friday night, I may get creative and randomly recruit people at the last minute if it doesn't Joss them just to make sure the pageant stands as being complete.

"Let us move out from the dock and in towards the town as we look upon another holiday, a non-religious one of great significance in some cultures that reached the peak of its popularity during the 1990's! Ladies and gentlemen, prepare to learn about the holiday for the rest of us, Festivus!"

For the Festivus group to perform.

The Doctor, looking a little pained, stood on the stage. It was the one that everyone knows and loves, not any of the other eight that were around today. He cleared his throat, and began to talk.

"A Festivus, for the rest of us," the Doctor said. "Celebrated each twenty-third of December, it is a holiday for those unshackled by religious predetermination of holiday choice. It was created by a man, a man with e vision. This man was named...

Frank Costanza.

And in an epic battle over a Christmas toy, there emerged an idea. An idea for a better way, something greater for everyone...

A Festivus. For the rest of us."

Greg scurried out, wrapped from head to toe...in aluminum foil. So, really, 'scurry' was a bad term. 'Shuffle' might have been more appropriate.

"I am a Festivus pole!" he announced. "The tradition of Festivus begins with an aluminium pole, and during Festivus, the unadorned Festivus Pole is displayed."

At this, Greg stood stock-still and tried to look like a pole.

"The pole was chosen in opposition to the commercialization of highly decorated Christmas trees, because it is very low-maintenance, and also because the holiday's patron, Frank Costanza, quote-unqupte 'find[s] tinsel distracting.'"

Greg looked mildly panicked. "But I don't! It's shiny and fun. Like me."

Greg went back to posing in a pole-like way.

Tyler came out dressed in a waiter's tuxedo, neatly stepping around pole-Greg. He was carrying a platter with an oversized mound of spaghetti and meat balls, a blob of poultry-ish meat with a helpful flag in it that said "TURDUCKEN," and five bottles of beer. Two of them were empty. "I am Festivus dinner," he said. "It's traditional to stick a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey, and to have food with red sauce. Like this spaghetti."

He paused. "Don't order spaghetti in a restaurant unless you know your waiter likes you. Trust me on this."

"Anyhow, Festivus Dinner is a time to gather, talk, drink and prepare for the other Festivus traditions."

Billy, offstage sighed. He still had the pegleg. He stumped onstage with as much dignity as was possible. "For instance, the airing of grievences."

"Which is where you talk about how all of your friends and family have disappointed you in the last year," Tyler said. "For example, Billy looks like a pirate. That's kind of disappointing."

Billy glowered. "I poked out my eye and cut off my leg just to spite you." he said sarcastically.

"Purposely disappointing," Tyler said. "Frank Constanza would approve."

Billy snickered. "Another Festivus tradition, is the feats of strength."

"Feats of Strength," the Doctor spoke up again. "Wherein the head of the household challenges someone to a wrestling match. They may decline if they have other things to do, but the series of Feats of Strength do not end until the head of the household has been pinned. In our instance, Billy here will be our head of the household. Who dares to step up to the challenge?"

Billy raised an eyebrow. He might not be 100% due to his leg, but he was totally ready to go.

React to the performance.

Isabel laughed and cheered for the Festivus Pole.

Oh, great, another holiday for Aeryn to keep track of.

Though after watching the performance, she's kind of deciding she'll forget it exists.

"GO POLE!" Peter yelled out at one point.
