Mm... food. Or at least fuel, since it was cafeteria food. But mm... fuel.

Walter took a seat by the window and started in on his lunch, an open book in front of him.

Nadia was out of food stored in her room. With everything that had happened, she hadn't gotten a chance to go grocery shopping again.

Thus? Cafeteria.

She was pleasantly surprised to see Walter there. "Hey."

Walter swallowed his meat lueff and wiped his mouth before smiling up at Nadia. "Hey yourself. Have you come to distract me from the Chef's cooking?"

"Is it that bad today? I ran out of groceries upstairs."

"It's food," Walter equivocated. "And who are we to complain about that?"

"Free food. That's the important part." Nadia started dosing her food with hot sauce. "What's that you're reading?"

"I should be doing revision for exams," Walter admitted, turning the book toward her so she could see the tiny printing of technical specs for a variety of weapons. "But I'm studying something I'll probably never get a grade on."

"And yet, might turn out to be much more useful, in your line of work."

"There is that," he said with a nod, but closed his book anyway. "How is your arm feeling?"

"It's fine. I should be able to get rid of this thing tomorrow morning."

"Excellent! Then we can try a bit more active activity once you're free of that thing."

He paused and decided he should tell her about his visit to Wilson's office and get it out of the way before it turned into a secret, even though it wasn't really one.

"Do you mind if I tell you something you might think means I'm upset or bothered, but doesn't?"

Nadia blinked a little. "No, that's fine. Though thanks for telling me that you're not."

"It's sort of a touchy subject and I like that we aren't arguing or hurting each other's feelings right now, so I'd like to keep it that way."

And as much as he really, deeply cared about Nadia, sometimes her reactions to things baffled him.

"I talked to Dr. Wilson yesterday. He explained what he did."

Walter looked up from his book and smiled. "Here for more treasures from your fellow countryman?"

"I've been pushing in StuCo to expand food services so it would probably be best if I help bump up the numbers of students taking advantage of what we have currently... And I really like his Cuukeees."

"How very noble of you, Madam Representative." Walter did, in fact, have more than one or three of the aforementioned cuukeees on his tray.

"I haven't seen Al yet, but he can't hide forever."

"I'm sure he's around here somewhere... Maybe we could have Pup sniff him out?"

"You'd think I'd be able to find my own roommate. It isn't as though I don't know where he sleeps."

Walter shrugged and pushed his mostly-empty tray aside. "Until then, we can work on the rest of the 'school beautification' plan. Boiler room, gremlin nets, do we have a scent of choice?"

"I like rose or lavender... But we could go with something else... Like... Hamburger or... Swedish meatballs."

"I like sweet for the hot water and meaty for the cold. Just to give people some variety." Which was also going to make warm water... interesting.

Walter blinked as his taste buds immediately supplied an idea of what that mixture might taste like.

"Remind me to get a shower well before we do that."

Walter grinned. "How about two? I'm certain Nadia and Pip would like to shower as well."
