Sam hit the computer early, feeling very behind on his Christmas preparations. In his defense, he wasn't used to having to come up with ideas for presents for people besides Dean and his dad.

Sam is at his Prophecy lab, but someone else might be around to help you.

Looking online for presents for Dawn had turned into a search for outfits that would really be more of a present to himself than to her. It was a good thing he knew how to clear a browser's cache and history.

Dean headed to the library after Prophecy Lab to ~~bug~~ ~~talk with~~ bug his brother.

"Hey," he said as he walked in. "Whatcha looking at?"

Sam snapped his head up and closed the browser window with an audible click. "Uh. Nothing. Christmas stuff."

"Yeah?" Dean sat on the edge of Sammy's desk and craned his head to try and get a look at the computer screen. "What, like decorations?"

"Something like that," Sam replied quickly, turning the monitor to try to keep Dean from looking. "Do you mind?"

Dean chuckled. "Do I mind? Okay, now I'm starting to wonder if you're looking at porn or something."

Sam turned pink and made sure the rest of the windows were closed before pushing the monitor back into place. "It wasn't porn. I could get into trouble for that."

"That never stopped me," Dean said with a grin.

"That's because you're you," Sam replied. "And if you must know, I was looking at presents for Dawn."

"Judging from the colours you're turning, I'm thinking dirty presents?"

"My search didn't start out dirty, I swear," Sam replied defensively.

Dean smirked. "But it ended up dirty."

"I was looking at jewelry, which turned into looking at clothes, which turned into looking at lingerie," Sam explained, letting his voice drop at the end.

"Dude!" Dean sounded delighted. "I knew you had it in you."

"It was an accident! I didn't mean to look there. And I'm not buying anything like that for Dawn, so don't even let your mind go there."

"Sounds like your mind already beat mine there."

Sam said nothing, and just grumbled and looked embarrassed.

Dean clapped a hand on his shoulder. "Knew you had it in you, Sammy."

Sam sighed. "I don't have anything in me. At least, not nearly as much as you do."

Dean snickered. "Must be why I have more fun."

"I don't think I want to have the kind of fun that you have," Sam said, making a face at Dean.

"Your loss," Dean said with a grin.

"Only you see it as a loss. I'm having a perfectly decent amount of fun with Dawn."

"Yeah, but you could be having an indecent amount of fun with her," Dean pointed out.

There were a few images that immediately sprang to mind at the word "indecent" and Sam had to try hard to keep himself from blushing again. "I like the fun we're having," he said. "And she hasn't been complaining either."

"Good. Because we'd have to have a talk if she was complaining."

"You know that I won't do anything to make her complain, at least not on purpose. I know better than that."

"Yeah, you do," Dean admitted easily. "Speaking of your girlfriend, I'm going to be stealing her tomorrow."

"Stealing her? Why?" Sam asked, looking skeptical. "What are you doing, and is there any possibility that you won't be bringing her back in one piece?"

Dean gave him a wounded look. "You sound like you don't trust me."

"It's not that I don't trust you," Sam said quickly. "But you must be doing something besides just hanging out if you felt the need to tell me you're stealing her, right?"

"We're going to the mainland."

"Oh. She said something before about how you'd promised to teach her how to drive - is that what this is all about?"

"She wanted to see the car," Dean said. It was true, just not the whole truth.

Sam snickered. "Well, if her eyes glaze over, just remember that that means you're talking too much about the car."

"Y'know, I've never had that problem with girls."

Sam rolled his eyes. "That shouldn't surprise me at all."

Now he was looking for presents for Dean, of the shiny weapon variety. Again, the ability to clear the browser would probably come in handy later, to keep anyone from thinking he's too crazy.

The library is closed for lunch, unless you're an aide, or the librarian.

Sam stuck around for a little while after lunch, getting away from the computer to make sure that all the books were where they were supposed to be.

How is it December already?!
