Study Hall -- Wednesday, September 21st
Welcome to the study hall for Wednesday. This will be my last study hall for the week, since my mun's access to the internet is now severely limited my son and I are going on a corporate terrorism crusade weekend vacation in which we will blow some shit up go to a petting zoo, shoot a few police officers buy a bunch of ice cream cones, and maybe stop a nuclear holocaust, you SICK SELFISH IGNORANT FUCKS listen to bad pop music while giggling like a couple of fucking morons.
Today's announcements:
-- Please behave for Professor Jerusalem while I'm away. He has my permission to do anything short of killing you little bastards, so keep that in mind before you do anything stupid.
-- ... well, that's about it, really.
*goes back to her office to pack*
(OOC: Just in case I don't get to do anything tomorrow due to my lack of internet access ... *waves* Adios! Bon voyage! Don't forget to write!
... oh, wait, that's Bugs Bunny's line. Anyway, Principal Connor will be expecting a full report of the goings-on when she gets back from her sweet, wonderful, completely innocent family outing. Heh. :))

Study Hall
"Well," says Marty, "This isn't awkward in the least."
Re: Study Hall
"No, not at all," she says. "So... I was thinking."
Re: Study Hall
*Okay... is this good thinking? Bad thinking? She laughed so she seems okay...*
"About what?"
Re: Study Hall
Re: Study Hall
"Yeah... that's pretty close to the situation. I wouldn't call it a 'promise' as much as I would call it a 'business commitment'. But yeah... that's pretty much it."
Re: Study Hall
"Okay, so what we should do is figure out how you can break the 'business commitment.' This school and this town are full of magic and power and knowledge -- I can't believe it's impossible. The question is, like, who could help you without landing you in a lot more trouble than two weekends in detention."
Re: Study Hall
"I hadn't thought of that. The only problem is that I don't even know who the client is. They contacted me anonymously and wish to remain so."
Marty scratches his head. "I hadn't thought about using any magic or whatever kind of mojo that keeps flying around here to.. uh 'fix' my problem. I suppose I could go to Spider or Connor and come clean about what I'm here... but I don't relish the idea of becoming the corn beef hash in the cafeteria tomorrow."
Re: Study Hall
"But I don't think you should start with Connor or Spider, either," she says. "What I was thinking about was who else could help."
She shows him the list in her notebook. In it, she's written about 15 or 20 names, with special abilities next to each one. The first few names are:
Sara Sidle -- Used to be a cop, seems to like helping students
Gus Grissom -- Ditto
River Tam -- Psychic
Maia Rutledge -- Scary psychic
M. Parker -- Not sure, but scares me
Death -- Serious mojo
Paige Matthews -- Can do cool witchy stuff
Angelus -- Might owe Marty for some reason
Re: Study Hall
"Cross off the last one. I don't like to deal with him any more than I have to. I have Dr. Grissom for Death & Dying and he seems to be a nice guy and I *think* he might know more about me than he says but..."
*shrugs*
"He is a cop. I'm not sure if I can go to him or Sidle. After my little episode with River in the hallway, I don't know if she or Maia would be willing to help me. I also don't know Paige very well either, but I've seen her hanging out with that Draco guy."
Marty looks at the remaining member on the list. Death.
"Is that the guidance counselor or the thing that roams the hallways wearing condoms?"
He thinks about it some more and writes another name to the list.
Beatrix Kiddo
"She's my martial arts teacher and also has... a past."
Re: Study Hall
"I was thinking of Death the guidance counselor, but ... maybe either one could help?"
She taps on the list for a minute, then glances around. They can hear Maia and Belthazoar's fight. "I think you're right that Maia is the wrong person to bring in. She, um, doesn't seem fantastically stable. But River ... I don't know, when I talked to River this weekend she was nice, and I think she wanted to help you, in her own way."
The revised list reads:
Sara Sidle -- Used to be a cop, seems to like helping studentsGus Grissom -- DittoRiver Tam -- Psychic
Maia Rutledge -- Scary psychicM. Parker -- Not sure, but scares me
Death (guidance counselor) -- Serious mojo
Death (student) -- Mojo
Paige Matthews -- Can do cool witchy stuff
Angelus -- Might owe Marty for some reasonBeatrix Kiddo -— knows martial arts, has a past
Re: Study Hall
Marty looks over the list again.
"I think I'll approach Miss Kiddo and Death - the guidance counselor. May sound strange, but I feel a little more comfortable approaching them."
He smiles at the comment beside Parker's name. Marty points to it and whispers, "Yeah, she scares me a little too."
Re: Study Hall
She thinks for a minute. "You should definitely start with the people you're comfortable with. I'm friends with Paige, but I'm not sure she could do much right now, and ... you want to keep this kind of quiet, right? So I won't, like, talk to anyone, specifically, unless you ask me to."
His last comment makes her grin.
"And if Parker and Angelus got into a fight, my money would be on Parker. But I don't think she needs to know yet, either."
Re: Study Hall
"Yeah, I think so too. River went off to protect... Chianna I think?... from a werewolf the other night and is still in the clinic (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandom_clinic/11417.html). I know she was being treated but haven't heard anything else."
Marty looks at Angela she mentions "talking to anyone"
and realizes she doesn't know how much trouble she could be getting into.
"Angela... I appreciate your help on this, but if you start talking to anyone... it could lead a trail back to you. It's dangerous enough with you and I just talking here."
Re: Study Hall
She realizes that helping Marty will not be as easily as she had foolishly hoped.
Re: Study Hall
"I won't let that happen, but I don't want you to take any risks."
Marty is struck with a thought.
"Have you ever fired a gun?"
Re: Study Hall
"Marty ... I really appreciate that, and everything, but you can't watch me every minute. You can't even keep yourself out of detention."
She thinks for a moment. "I've never even held a gun," she whispers.
Re: Study Hall
"I can show you. Why don't we meet tomorrow at the shooting range? That is... if you want to learn."
Re: Study Hall
He starts to speak, and she holds up a hand to stop him.
"I don't want to. But I think ... I think I need to at this school, Marty, no matter how much weapons are banned. So."
She looks at her class schedule.
"I'm free tomorrow after four," she says. "Where should we meet?"
Re: Study Hall
Great. Firearms, kevlar and bullets. Just what I wanted for our "first date". That should really put her at ease, Blank.
Re: Study Hall
You might think she was perfectly calm about it, unless you noticed the tremble in her voice, the way she gripped the arms of the chair so as not to float away.
[[OOC: Wanna wrap up here? I'm not feeling terribly creative.]]
Re: Study Hall
"You'll be all right. I'll see you tomorrow."
He gives her a small smile and heads off to class.
[OOC: That's cool. See ya tomorrow on the range.]
