Thanksgiving- The cafeteria- Thursday, 4 pm onwards

Once the food is cooked, it's time to set it out, and start yelling at people to get their butts down to dinner.

There's a full spread, complete with all the traditional Thanksgiving stuff. Turkey, sides, and all the fun dessert stuff will be brought out later. There's a cooler full of drinks (non-alcoholic, as hi, Jaye did invite the principal) and everything should be good. And if it isn't... eh. Deal.

Ray ended laughing into his dinner.

"What would you be doing if you were at home?" Molly asked him after a bit. "Besides eating, I mean."

"Watching football," he says immediately. "Playing outside in the snow, if we had any."

"Isn't it too cold to play in the snow?"

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] the-right-ray.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Nah," he said. "Beats staying inside and being bothered by my family."

"Do you have a big family?" Molly asked, curious.

She'd heard about large family gatherings, but it had only ever been her and her parents. Before they died anyway. How odd to realize that her family had only gotten bigger after she was an orphan.

"Nah," he said. "Big enough to annoy me sometimes but not so big that I ended up sleeping on the floor while one of them took my bed."

"Do you have any brothers or sisters?"

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] the-right-ray.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
"One brother," he answered. "Younger than me."

"How much younger? Are you friends? Do you miss him?" Molly might have always wanted a sibling. Just a little.

"Just a few years, sometimes and sometimes," he answered, smiling.

Molly gave a small, wistful sigh. "It was only ever me and my parents before they died. And then, when I was hiding out with my friends, we couldn't ever really afford to do anything big." She looked around the table with a smile. "This is my first really big Thanksgiving."

"Your first, really?" He blinked, surprised. "Least this one's a good one."

Re: Dinner

Molly nodded. "Me and my parents would go out to restaurants sometimes, but we never did anything with a large group of people. This is what I always thought Thanksgiving was supposed to be like. Except with more adults."

"Are you having fun today?" Ray asked.

Molly grinned and nodded. "I am. A lot."

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] the-right-ray.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Good to hear," he said. "And there's still dessert!"

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Molly giggled. "Did you leave room?"

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] the-right-ray.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Always room for dessert," he said matter of factly.

"Guys really do have hollow legs, don't they?"

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] the-right-ray.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Uh?" That's one he hadn't heard before. He tapped his leg. "Sounds pretty solid to me."

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Chase always used to say that he could eat so much because his legs were hollow and he had to fill them up with food."

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] the-right-ray.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ray frowned. "That..would be useful but where would the bones and muscles be if the food was all in there?"

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Molly snickered. "I actually never thought about it that much. I guess the bones would still be there, the food would just fill in around them."

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] the-right-ray.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Make kind of a fat leg," he said.
