Thanksgiving- The cafeteria- Thursday, 4 pm onwards

Once the food is cooked, it's time to set it out, and start yelling at people to get their butts down to dinner.

There's a full spread, complete with all the traditional Thanksgiving stuff. Turkey, sides, and all the fun dessert stuff will be brought out later. There's a cooler full of drinks (non-alcoholic, as hi, Jaye did invite the principal) and everything should be good. And if it isn't... eh. Deal.

"Agreed," Cedric said, starting to eat as well. "I am thankful, though. For a great many things."

"I'm glad," he said with a smile for Cedric. "I like the idea of a day just to appreciate good things. It's," he paused, loaded fork halfway to his mouth, "it's too easy to take the good things for granted."

Re: Dinner

"It is," he said, nodding. "And, of course, it's nice to be able to eat free food. Call me shallow."

He smiled before eating more food.

"You're shallow," he said agreeably. "And it's not precisely free - I had to work for our suppers. I peeled a veritable mountain of potatoes, just so we wouldn't have to help with the cleanup."

"That's because you can't say no to a pretty face," Cedric teased.

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Jack rolled his eyes at himself. "Depends on whose pretty face it is. Some people I just have no power to resist." He grumbled good naturedly under his breath as he speared a brussell sprout, "No idea how that happened."

"It's a good trait to have," Cedric told him, bumping his knee into Jack's. "Makes people trust you and come to you when they need help or just someone to talk to."

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
Jack looked at Cedric curiously. "Is that speculation or personal experience talking?"

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Experience, of course," he said. "You know I trust you. And you know more about me than anyone."

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
"I know," he replied, reaching over to squeeze Cedric's hand. "I guess I just suddenly wondered what prompted it. I mean, when you first got here. There's lots of good people here, so why'd you pick me? Not that I'm not irresistible," he added with a laugh.

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Pick?" Cedric shook his head. "I didn't so much pick as it just happened and it felt right and natural. It made me feel something more, being with you. I feel things with my friends, yes, but there was something...different? Unique? Something when I met you. Did it have to do with being shirtless at the time? Only partly."

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Shirtlessness is a great way to win friends and influence people," he said absently, the corner of his mouth quirked in a half smile. "But whatever the reason, however it happened, I'm glad I've got you, Cedric. I wouldn't trade you for anything." Jack looked down at his plate, then back up. "And apparently this large quantity of food is making me ridiculously sentimental. Sorry."

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
"It doesn't bother me," Cedric answered. "I like sentimentality every once in awhile. Besides, you're really just a big teddy bear inside. I know that."

He smirked.

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Jack stared at him, open mouthed. "I'm a...teddy bear?" he asked incredulously. "A teddy bear. Oh, you are so going to pay for that."

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
"And how would you go about making me pay for that?" Cedric asked. "Because you are a teddy bear. I know that for a fact."

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm not a teddy bear," he muttered, feigning offense - badly, since he couldn't quite manage not to smile - and ignoring the question of how he was going to make Cedric pay. "I'm Jack Harkness, shameless flirt, occasional thief, sometimes conman, and I once got kicked off an entire planet. Naked. Those things don't really go with being a teddy bear."

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
"You also like to cuddle," Cedric said, laughing. "Teddy bear."

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Jack started to laugh and held up his hands in surrender. "I can't win this, can I?"

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Probably not," he said, smiling in triumph. "But, don't worry. I won't tell anyone."

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, good. I'd hate to see my reputation completely ruined," he replied, still chuckling.

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
"If I've already told Isabel, would that be bad?" Cedric asked, looking as innocent as he possibly could. Not that he'd told her that, of course.

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
Jack grinned at the question. "If I told you Isabel already knows from personal experience, would that be bad?" he countered.

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Hmmm." He made a show of thinking. "No, it wouldn't. Perhaps Isabel, Sam and I could form a club? Been Cuddled by Jack? Does that have a nice ring to it?"

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Jack hung his head and sighed. "As long as it's a secret club. And no one else is allowed to join." Except maybe Parker, but he was pretty sure she'd kill him first. "And you can't have a teddy bear as your mascot!"

Re: Dinner

[identity profile] chasingsnitches.livejournal.com 2006-11-24 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
"We can't have a teddy bear as our mascot?" Cedric frowned. "That's not fair!"
