Thanksgiving- The cafeteria- Thursday, 4 pm onwards

Once the food is cooked, it's time to set it out, and start yelling at people to get their butts down to dinner.

There's a full spread, complete with all the traditional Thanksgiving stuff. Turkey, sides, and all the fun dessert stuff will be brought out later. There's a cooler full of drinks (non-alcoholic, as hi, Jaye did invite the principal) and everything should be good. And if it isn't... eh. Deal.

"Willow knows magic," Cedric pointed out. "Can she perhaps help? I'm afraid I'm no help with this sort of thing. I just didn't want Jaye to say anything about me on the radio so I stayed to help."

"If she wanders in we'll have to ask her. But in the mean time," Isabel said, picking up a sponge. "It looks like we're doing it the old fashioned way."

"Shall I dry?" Cedric asked.

"Sounds like a plan," she agreed, approaching the sink. "So what did you think of your first Thanksgiving? Did you have enough to eat?"

"I ate entirely too much," he said, nodding. "I don't know how I'm still standing."

"Sheer willpower?" Isabel grinned. "We'll be done here soon enough. Then you and Jack can go and sprawl on a couch somewhere and sleep off the tryptophan."

"That still means climbing stairs to get to his room, at least," Cedric said, trying to sound maligned and woeful.

"There are couches out there," she pointed out with a grin. "You can rest up out there. Work up the energy to climb the stairs."

"I'll just make Jack carry me," he said, smiling at that thought.

"Now that an image. Would you prefer piggyback, fireman's carry, or the traditional scooped up in the arms hold?" Isabel asked, perfectly serious.

"I...don't know what a few of those even mean," Cedric admitted.

"I see. Okay, the easiest one to describe is the scooped up in the arms hold," she explained. "Picture any romantic movie you've ever seen. You know how the guy usually scoops the girl up in his arms and carries her off to the bedroom as the music swells and you know the next time you see them they'll have big grins on there faces? That's the traditional, romantic scoop and carry. A fireman's carry is where you get tossed over someone's shoulder and they start running. And do I really need to explain piggyback rides to you?"

"Right," he said. "If I had to choose, I suppose the regular scoop would do well. The others sound slightly uncomfortable."

"I agree. Plus it has the added benefit of being close enough for kisses," Isabel said, nodding. "I wonder if Greg will be willing to carry me back?"

"I'm sure he would." Cedric nodded. "If not, I could always turn him into something for you."

"No transmogifying the boyfriend please," she protested. "Once as a hedgehog was enough."

"And I didn't even do that," he said, laughing. "Greg gets out of this time. If he doesn't carry you back, I'll go fetch my broomstick and fly you up to your room."

"In that case I think I'm going to collapse on a couch and whimper until you do," Isabel grinned. "Jack said flying was fun."

"How can I resist someone who whimpers?"

"You'd need really strong willpower. Especially if puppy-eyes were added to the mix." Just to test his willpower, Isabel demonstrated.

"Now, that's just unfair," he said, mock scowling.

"It's my secret weapon. I only bring it out when I really, really need it," she laughed.

"You've used that on Greg before? On Jack?"

"I think I used it on Jack once," Isabel grinned. "I forget what for."

"I wonder if I can do it." And yes, Cedric actually attempted the puppy dog eyes.
