Thanksgiving- The cafeteria- Thursday morning till 4 pm FHT

The cafeteria's not exactly decked out, but there are streamers and stuff, and festve tablecloths. That's something. Jaye tried to arrange the tables into one big long table, but that didn't work so well, so it's kind of arranged in a three-sided square shape. A C shape. Whatever.

The kitchen is ready for preparation and cooking, and Jaye hopes everyone keeps it clean because she really doesn't want to clean up.

Outside the cafeteria, in the hall (off to the side where no one will have to step over anyone else), the TV is set up, having been handwavily wingardium leviosaed down from the second floor common room. Chairs have been set up, and cushions have been stolen from various places for people to lounge on. There are also little tables set up with bowls of chips and dip and popcorn and stuff. Enjoy your football.

"Is it really that big a concern?" she asks, a little warily.

"Not in winter," she promises, remembering who she's talking to, finally.

"Okay," she says, a little relieved. "Still learning some things."

"It's just a slightly warmer climate. California is a desert," she says.

"I haven't actually spent a lot of time on other planets," she admits. "I've been to many, but haven't seen so many climates on one continent before."

"We're weird," Rory nods. "And we have an unusual amount of water, I guess."

"There are some out there that have more, actually," Aeryn says. "A couple where it's nothing but water, almost."

Rory comes dangerously close to noting who would love that kind of planet.

But she stops herself, because it's Thanksgiving and she wants to be happy or at least pretend reasonably well, and so she's doing everything in her power not to think about him.

"The people who live there must be like fish," she says instead.

"Maybe," Aeryn says. "Usually the beings that live there are mostly aquatic, so they are, in a way, the fish."

"Unless they're aquatic mammals, like dolphins," Rory notes.

"Some of them, probably," she says. "But I can't name any species myself."

"Maybe they're actually just space-dolphins," she speculates.
