fandomhigh | Thanksgiving- The cafeteria- Thursday morning till 4 pm FHT

The cafeteria's not exactly decked out, but there are streamers and stuff, and festve tablecloths. That's something. Jaye tried to arrange the tables into one big long table, but that didn't work so well, so it's kind of arranged in a three-sided square shape. A C shape. Whatever.

The kitchen is ready for preparation and cooking, and Jaye hopes everyone keeps it clean because she really doesn't want to clean up.

Outside the cafeteria, in the hall (off to the side where no one will have to step over anyone else), the TV is set up, having been ~~handwavily~~ wingardium leviosaed down from the second floor common room. Chairs have been set up, and cushions have been stolen from various places for people to lounge on. There are also little tables set up with bowls of chips and dip and popcorn and stuff. Enjoy your football.

"I see food," Jaye greets him. "Also, hi."

"Huh?" Chad almost forgot about the can in his hand until he looked at it after a moment. "Oh. Yeah. And hi...."

"How've you been?" he asked, trying hard not to think about his response to last night's radio.

"I've been living this freaking holiday for a week now. I'll be really relieved by the end of the day. You?"

"I get a lot of food just for bein' here. I'm pretty damn good."

"Yeah, that part does kinda rule," she grins.

"Definately," Chad nodded, and ran a hand through his hair, feeling an impulse to continue the conversation, but completely at a loss for how.

"Uhhh, that is assuming I got this Thanksgiving thing right; never celebrated it before."

"Really? Well, you got it right. It's football and weird parades and food. And usually there are huge family arguments, but we kind of get to bypass that here," she says.

"I can pretend to be someone's older brother if that needs to happen," he offered.

"That's so cool," she says. "So at dinner if things are looking boring, you can just spring into action!"

"We should have a signal," Chad said with a nod, "so I know when arguementive big bro mode needs to be activated."

"Okay, when it's time, I'll tug on my ear and clear my throat at the same time," she says.

Chad nodded, looked thoughtful as he confirmed a visual in his head. He gave Jaye the thumbs-up. "Got it."
