Thanksgiving- The cafeteria- Thursday morning till 4 pm FHT

The cafeteria's not exactly decked out, but there are streamers and stuff, and festve tablecloths. That's something. Jaye tried to arrange the tables into one big long table, but that didn't work so well, so it's kind of arranged in a three-sided square shape. A C shape. Whatever.

The kitchen is ready for preparation and cooking, and Jaye hopes everyone keeps it clean because she really doesn't want to clean up.

Outside the cafeteria, in the hall (off to the side where no one will have to step over anyone else), the TV is set up, having been handwavily wingardium leviosaed down from the second floor common room. Chairs have been set up, and cushions have been stolen from various places for people to lounge on. There are also little tables set up with bowls of chips and dip and popcorn and stuff. Enjoy your football.

Welcome to Fandom High Thanksgiving.

[OPEN TO ALL. There will be two posts for this. Both will go up tonight for SP into Friday or so.
Wait for OCD. Play on!]

"I have a cunning plan," he told her gleefully. "I'm going to slave now - Izzy roped me into peeling potatoes - before eating, then I can laze around afterward in slothful indolence with Cedric while other people clean up. No Sam," he added sadly. "She's sick, but I'll try and be lazy enough for both of us."

"Thank you, thank you." He gave a little bow. "And the...Butterball Hotline? I'm almost afraid to ask."

Eyes gleaming, Jack asked, "What did you have in mind? I'm no Sam, but I'd be happy to offer up my humble self in her stead."

He snickered and said, "Oh that has such potential. Could they trace the call back to us?"

"See if they want to embrace shirtlessess? Accept me as their own personal mayor?" he mused. "I like this. I like this very much." Jack smirked and held out his hand. "Got a phone?"

Jack stared at the phone, then at Jaye. "Right. Not asking, never judging," he laughed, then hit the speed dial. "This might take awhil--Oh." He held up a hand, listened, then started punching buttons. "Menu choices - I'm going for 'other'."

"Nope. I think we need a specialist. Aha." Jack turned his attention back to the phone. "Yes, hello, thank you," he said in his best warm and flirty tones. "I was wondering if you could help me. I need to know if my turkey should be cooked shirtless."

Jack grinned, but kept his voice relatively serious. "Me or the turkey?" he repeated. "Well, both, I guess. You see we follow the Way of the Seahorse down here, shirtlessness is mandatory. And pantlessness on special occasions. But I thought I should talk to an expert, see if that was going to interfere with the cooking process. Uh huh. Okay. You want to know what I'm wearing?" He raised an eyebrow at Jaye and covered the mouthpiece. "What do you want me to tell them?" he whispered.

Jack snickered silently, before saying into the phone, "Wearing? I'm not sure I follow. This is a special occasion, so like I said, pantlessness and shirtlessness are mandatory. Oh. Well, okay." His eyes got wide and he stared at the phone. "Should I really be doing that in a kitchen? It doesn't sound very hygienic...Oh! Right, that makes sense. Okay. Well thanks for the advice. What?" He started to laugh, leaning on Jaye for support. "The Way of the Seahorse is a state of mind, not a place. If you want to celebrate it, go right ahead." Jack listened for another few seconds, still laughing, then hung up. "Oh dear."

"I'm going to be damn good at it, too." He grinned down at her. "Because unless I'm wrong, and I never am about these things, our erstwhile advisor is currently embracing the Seahorse way. Starting with his pants."

Bending over one arm, he offered Jaye an elaborate bow and held out her phone.

"I aim to please, Jaye. Especially for you." He clapped his hands together and grinned. "And now I should go and slave in the kitchen or Izzy might come after me with something sharp."

"Around here? I think it's everyone's job," he laughed and waved over his shoulder as he headed into the kitchen.
