Friday Afternoon Assembly

Josh stood up on the stage, looking distinctly uncomfortable.

It wasn't like someone had given him a microphone and an audience in a while. Not since the whole "secret plan to fight inflation" thing, anyway.

"Welcome to the first game show at Fandom High," he read from his cue card. "Where the questions are just as cracked out as the school." He raised an eyebrow. "Huh. Today we will be vying teachers against students for bragging rights and pie from Jeff, God of Biscuits. The game will be divided into three sections--much like the US government--though the students will be overrepresented because they know that the teachers at this school will kick their butts otherwise with their superior wit and guile."

Josh grinned. "Let the games begin!"

The goat ran into the wall and brayed uncertainly. Alanna tutted at it and made a flapping motion. Take it as you will what she meant by it. "Tut tut." Somewhere backstage, a black cat fell over from laughter.

"I am the Nutcracker!" Eric yelled again. The goat stumbled over to him. "And you are the... mouse king. Hi." The goat looked rather disinterested. Weiss tried very hard to look menacing.

Alanna blew out a few more notes and made the tutu fly over to Eric. She aslo tried to dance over to Eric and the goat.

"I said I'm not wearing the tutu, dammit!" Eric said. He did a passable flying leap toward the goat and brandished the hand soap at him. "I hate this," he muttered.

Alanna stopped with the not!music for a minute. "I thought the goat was wearing the tutu. And that makes two of us."

"If you can magick the tutu over to me, can't you magick it onto the goat?" Eric asked, disregarding that he was having this argument in front of the entire student body. "Because, ew, not handling a goat's back legs."

Alanna glared. "I can magic it if you play the stupid musical instrument thingy. I kind of need both hands. And dude, they're just legs."

"They are legs of a goat, who I'm pretty sure is a dude," Weiss said. "Not that gender matters. Toss me the kazoo."

Alanna chucked the kazoo at Weiss's head with an eye roll. "Here goaty goaty, be a good goaty and don't do anything dumb." The goat tried to kick at her. And then there was a flying kicking goat and a flying tutu.

Weiss started playing the Kazoo with fervor. Never mind that it probably sounded like a yak mating call... or worse. And then he took a long, slow, monotone note when the goat started to fly.

Alanna winced at Weiss's playing and telekinetically pulled the tutu on to the goat and let it fall to the ground with a thud. "For the love of my ear drums, please stop playing. Also, now what?"

"I have no idea. Umm... maybe you're the Nutcracker and your putting the tutu on the Goat is symbolic of your rise against the patriarchy?"

"...What? I though you were the nut thing and the goat was the mouse and I was the princess-ballerina-whatever."

"Yeah, but if we go with the new interpretation, we get off stage faster," Weiss said.

"That works." Alanna made a grab for the goat and the poor thing ran off towards Weiss. "Stupid thing."
