Ethics [Thursday, November 16, 6th period]

Vader stalked into the classroom precisely on time--he was anal-retentive that way--and slammed the door shut.

"Today we begin with a discussion of the Seven Deadly Sins," he growled, holding up a hand and counting the first three off, "beginning with pride, gluttony, and envy. Why do you think these would be considered so deadly? Do you think of yourself being particularly attracted to any of these...vices?" He crossed his arms over his chest and looked around the classroom. "Discuss."

"Why maybe?" Vader asked. "Are you so unsure of your failings? They are certainly numerous."

He was cruel helpful like that.

"I was, I mean, I just," Stark stammered. It was so easy to fluster him sometimes. He didn't exactly need reminders of all his failings.

"I was trying to, to decide," he said after a pause to attempt to collect himself. "If it really was a vice. Of mine. And if there was another one that fit better."

"And what did you decide?" Vader snapped impatiently.

"I didn't, really," Stark said. He thought that was obvious and that it was in fact the reason this conversation was even taking place. "That's why there was the maybe. When I answered you the first time. Wasn't sure. Still not sure."

"But now you've had more time to think about it."

Ten seconds. While Vader was harassing him. Small wonder the entire Imperial fleet hated this guy.

"Make a decision!"

Okay, now Stark was fighting the urge to flail. He wasn't exactly successful.

"Not enough time," Stark protested weakly. "But fine. I'll decide. Doesn't matter. Just pick one. Or two. I'll pick two. Gluttony. And envy. There. Decided. Better?"

Babbling? Yeah, a little. What else is new?

"Better," Vader snarled, then stomped away to terrify someone else.

Stark watched Vader stomp off and then proceeded to sit and look traumatized for the rest of the class. Seemed the thing to do.
