When they students enter the Danger Shop, the find themselves on the edges of a swamp at night. John, as usual, was leaning against the parked Impala waiting for them.

"This is Laveau Swamp," he said. "It has a little infestation problem right now. Of zombies." As if on cue a low disturbing moan drifted out of the night. "As you can hear," John continued with a small smile. "The bokar who raised them is in a shack near the center of the swamp. Your assignment is to make it to that shack and stop him. There will be some kind of talisman that he'll be using to control them. Destroy it and then get the hell out."

John pushed away from the side of the car and walked around to the trunk. "This particular type of zombie shrugs off most attacks except fire. Now generally, you're not going to be able to get a hold of a real flame thrower quickly or easily, so that's when you've got to improvise." He pulled out an aerosol can and a lighter and demonstrated just how to improvise. (~~Winchester flame thrower, patent pending~~)

"That's going to be your main weapon today. Just be careful where you aim when you use it -- you don't want to set anything on fire that you don't mean to, such as each other. Try to avoid that."

Phoebe led the way through the swamp, weapons at the ready.

Conner followed, scanning the area around them and wrinkling his nose at the swamp smell. He missed the forests back in Reefside; at least they'd been pretty clean.

From off to one side, a low moaning could be heard coming towards them.

Phoebe turned towards the sound, weapon ready.

Out of the shadows a shadowy figure lumbered towards them.

"Oh, gross," Conner muttered, trying to get Phoebe's attention without sounding too alarmed. "Definitely not the Caritas zombies."

"Definitely not Caritas zombies," she agreed quietly. She waited until the zombie got within range and lit it on fire.

The zombie made a high pitched screeching noise that sent shivers down the spine as it burned.

And beyond it there were more shadows shambling their way.

Dawn got to the edge of the swamp, sighed at how her sneakers were going to be ruined, then squished her way in, keeping an eye out for zombies. She assumed Sam and Alec were behind her and hopefully not fighting.

Sam was only not fighting with Alec because he was ignoring him and focusing on following Dawn into the swamp. "Well, this is authentically gross," he said as he stepped in.

"Oh, yeah," Dawn made a face as she continued squelching, wondering if she should be more concerned about snakes than zombies. "Is zombie hunting always this damp and ooky?"

"Only when the zombies live in swamps," Sam replied with a smirk. "Hunting them on dry ground is a lot cleaner."

"You ever had to track something through a sewer? Yuck-o."

"It could be worse," Alec said, trailing behind the both of them as they walked through swamp.

"It could?" Sam asked.

From out of the shadows a moaning zombie came lumbering towards them, arms outstretched.

Bel and Bridge headed into the swamp. Here, zombie zombie zombie.

Bridge glances over at Bel, noting the turtleneck. "So. Have an interesting weekend in Vegas?"

Bel coughed and tugged at the turtleneck. "Yeah, it was fun," he said vaguely.

"I heard about the..." Bridge waves the hand not holding the flamethrower. "Stuff. With the..."

Bel glared. "How much did Anders tell you?"

"That there was snuggling. And vampires."

"I thought he was Phoebe! And I didn't know they were vampires!" Bel said, near flailing.

"Hey, think of it this way. At least there wasn't snuggling *with* the vampires. Then I might have to yell at you."
