Library - 11/7

After being woken up by last night's dream, Isabel never went back to sleep. When she opened the library, there was an extremely large cup of coffee in her hand.

"I know. You're right," Isabel said with a weak smile. "I'll email Liz and Maria in a few days. They'll be able to start working on him for me."

"Good call. I still have to meet Maria, sometime." Parker leaned on the library desk. "Happy thoughts. How's Greg?"

"You'd like her. She's a goof, but she's loyal," she said. "He's doing well. He's going to Vegas with his class this weekend. I fear for the city."

"As well you should. Bel and Daisy are going too. I'm not bailing them out of jail," Parker said very seriously, her eyes dancing. "They left me in jail, I'm leaving them. Well. Maybe I'd shell out some money for your boyfriend...."

"I would appreciate that," Isabel smiled. "I've gotten used to having him around."

"You know me. Always willing to help." Parker spoke lightly, then smiled. "Although I'd rather go to Vegas and mock."

"I never said you couldn't mock as you were helping!" she said, actually managing a grin for that comment.

Parker noted the tiny amount of relaxation, and smiled. "I could pay my own way, I suppose...."

"Right to the top of a high roller suite at the classiest hotel in town," Isabel agreed. "Which means you'll have more then enough room for a friend or two."

"True enough. That was always the plan, right? To go to Vegas when I had the time?" Parker didn't meet Isabel's eyes. "Time to bring on the cabana boys and booze, I think. If not this weekend, then before New Year's."

Isabel suddenly remembered the last time she'd talked to Parker about Vegas and frowned. "Yeah, sorry. Well if you don't want to do Vegas, Cedric and I have plans to run off to Mexico with Jack and Greg as our cabana boys. You're welcome to come with."

"No, Vegas is good. It's fine." Parker quirked a smile at Isabel. "I was saying to Z and Zero that I needed to go there. It's not anyone's exclusive property. Right? And Jack and Greg and Sam can come along too, if they want."

"I'm in," she said quickly. "It's still warm out there. I'll be able to sit by the pool and get some sun. But can we bring Cedric as well? You wouldn't want Jack to miss one of his thingies would you?"

"Of course. That reminds me that I need to ask him if he wants to help with my science project, anyway." Her face grew shadowed. "Everyone who's important will be there, if they want."

"Magic as part of bio? Intriguing. I'm just going to play with light exposure on petunias," Isabel replied. "I'm sure they'll want to be there. It's time with friends, why wouldn't they?"

"Plus, Vegas," Parker said again, smile returning. "Maybe I should ask Angel about good places to hit while we're there, if I see him tomorrow."

"Yes, Vegas. That could be very interesting. I promise I'd be very good and not try to change the odds in my favor at all," she chuckled. "I'm going to have to try and track him down. But if you see him and I haven't? Tell him I said hi."

"Oh, but where's the fun if you don't?" Parker grinned, and tapped a hand on the counter. "And sure, I'll definitely tell him that. I wish he were staying longer, but it'll be good to see him. Although I don't like the conversation I'm going to have to have with him." She made a face.

"Well there's that whole not drawing attention to myself thing," Isabel grinned back. "But they'd never be able to prove anything. What conversation? About that whole tangled relationship thing he has going on out there?"

"That, plus Logan's finances, which are just-- gah. I can't get into too many details on that with Angel, even, but enough to clue him in that Logan needs to call me about it." Parker shook her head, then pushed off the counter. "And when we go? We'll have Jack and Cedric as distractions. Plus, of course, Greggie's hair. No one will look at you when that's in the room."

"If worse comes to worse, have Bel shimmer you out and thwap Logan in person," she suggested. "And leave my boyfriend's hair out of this. It's fun!"

"Back-up plan in place, and the hair is in. Because it *is* fun!" Parker called over her shoulder as she headed for the door.
