Friday Assembly/Recital

The auditorium stage has been transformed into a series of moving sets and curtains. After the students and faculty take their seats Lorne steps out and waves to the crowd. "Hey all you groovy cats and kittens out there! Thanks for coming today! All my music students are very excited to perform for you today and can't wait to get things started. So without any more delay? Let's light this firecracker!"

[ooc: Wait for the OCD is up!]

Of all the names he had to get right, it had to be hers? Parker gave Lorne a good glare for that one. And prepared to meet her doom. Doom. Doom.

Dressed in the native sarong costume that had at least managed to bypass the grass skirt, Parker stepped out on stage, and rolled her eyes.

At least she can carry a tune. Even if she sounds like she's singing because someone has a gun at her head.

When the skies are brighter canary yellow
I forget ev'ry cloud I've ever seen,
So they called me a cockeyed optimist
Immature and incurably green.

First person that laughs, Parker's throwing the microphone at them.

Isabel is not laughing. Honestly. In fact she's biting her lip so hard to keep from laughing, she's probably going to draw blood.

Re: Parker!

Parker gives her and 'Et tu, Isabel?' look, sets her jaw, and swings into the chorus.

I have heard people rant and rave and bellow
That we're done and we might as well be dead,
But I'm only a cockeyed optimist
And I can't get it into my head

Her eyes are practically crossing at this point.

Isabel schooled her face into a very neutral expression. And made plans to supply Parker with a lot of good chocolate and wine as soon as possible.

What if they hurt themselves laughing already?

That entire jar of lollipops is just going to disappear someday. Some day when someone gets a mustached inked in him in his sleep. Oh yes.

I hear the human race
Is fallin' on its face
And hasn't very far to go,
But ev'ry whippoorwill
Is sellin' me a bill,
And tellin' me it just ain't so.

She might sound like she wants to strangle the stupid whipporwhill.

Seely couldn't help it, he laughed.

Re: Parker!

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-10-27 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker glared at Seely, and started moving in that direction. The second the song's over, he's getting a microphone in the chest.

could say life is just a bowl of Jello
And appear more intelligent and smart,
But I'm stuck like a dope
With a thing called hope,
And I can't get it out of my heart!
Not this heart...

And there it goes, sailing toward him.

Re: Parker!

[identity profile] socksofcool.livejournal.com 2006-10-28 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
Seely snickered as he caught the microphone and blew Parker a kiss.

What? Like she was going to get more mad at him?

Re: Parker!

Parker's glare could cut diamonds. Stomping away, she vows that Seely's next embarassing moment will *so* go up on the Radio, if she has her way.

Seely grinned and watched Parker leave.

The stomping gave her ass that certain something.

Marty is laughing.

He's also getting this on videotape.

Re: Parker!

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-10-27 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohhh, Marty's going to be chased after the show. She's getting out of this stupid costume and tracking him down as soon as the show is over.

I have heard people rant and rave and bellow
That we're done and we might as well be dead,
But I'm only a cockeyed optimist
And I can't get it into my head

And Parker bows, nods and whirls around to go off-stage to find her running shoes.

Peter was just about shaking in a valiant attempt not to laugh. It wasn't a valiant attempt that succeeded, but he tried.

Parker shot English a death glare, then a pout, and decided that he better be happy with this. It was the only payback for the kissing photos that he was likely to get. Why didn't she have two microphones to throw, damnit!

I have heard people rant and rave and bellow
That we're done and we might as well be dead,
But I'm only a cockeyed optimist
And I can't get it into my head

Willow certainly wasn't the first to giggle, so she figured she was safe.

Re: Parker!

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-10-27 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
The list has gotten so long by now, that Parker's just making notes of who she has to laugh at the next time they're embarassed in public.

I could say life is just a bowl of Jello
And appear more intelligent and smart,
But I'm stuck like a dope
With a thing called hope,
And I can't get it out of my heart!

Nellie Forbush was an IDIOT.

Willow gave Parker a cheerful thumbs-up.

Jack wasn't laughing, but he was grinning so hard his face hurt. Laughter may be about to break out at any moment.

Oh, he is so getting it when she's offstage. Just you wait, Harkness.

I have heard people rant and rave and bellow
That we're done and we might as well be dead,
But I'm only a cockeyed optimist
And I can't get it into my head...

Stupid sarong.

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-10-27 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
He was doing really well, incredibly well, actually, right up until the words 'cockeyed optimist' did him in, and he slipped down in his chair and started laughing helplessly.

Luke was bobbing his head along to the tune and not understanding why people were laughing.

He liked this song.

Re: Parker!

[identity profile] kawalsky.livejournal.com 2006-10-28 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Kawalsky laughed.

Re: Parker!

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-10-28 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
It's a looooong list at this point. Parker gave Kawalsky a half-hearted glare while she was at it, and managed not to lose her place in the music.

I could say life is just a bowl of jello
And appear more intelligent and smart
But I'm stuck like a dope with a thing called hope

Not this heart

Please let this song be over... yay! She threw the mike at Seely and stomped off.
