Fencing Club, 5pm, Salle.

Peter arrived at the salle a bit later than he generally would. He hurried in to set up as others came into the salle.

"I apologise, I don't have a demonstration set up this week from anyone, so I think this shall be a rather basic week. Pair off or work on your forms alone if you like. Those of you who are starting out, if you pair off with each, we can work on some general block and attack sequences."

"They're a bit awkward, but they work, " Peter replied. "You can adjust them slightly to make them more effective with the steel blade."

Luke bit his lower lip as he thought of how the shift in weight would affect the motions he had gotten used to, then stood in his first position. "Ready," he said, grinning at Peter.

Peter grinned back at him and assumed the same first position. He moved through the form at a training pace. The changes were noticeable and made the form feel natural with the weapon.

Luke followed along. It was obvious he'd been practicing. He wasn't nearly as spastic as he had been, though he still had a long way to go until he was as fluid with the weapon as Anakin had been.

"You've gotten better," Peter commented moving from that form into the Fifth which adapted much more fluidly into a sword form.

Luke grinned. "Thanks," he said. "Those videos have been a huge help."

Peter couldn't imagine learning from a video, but he nodded. "I was happy to be able to get them."

"My father made it look easier," Luke admitted, moving to face off against Peter. "Would you mind a quick spar to see if I've learned anything that might stop me from getting killed?"

"Your father had been training for about eight years longer than you," Peter pointed out. He saluted Luke with his sword. "Anytime."

Luke smiled and then aimed his first blow towards Peter's right shoulder.

Peter blocked high then sent a diagonal slice towards Luke's torso.

Luke's reflexes had gotten a lot faster, too. He moved to counter almost before Peter had finished his move, then blinked.

"That was strange," he said.

Peter tilted his head at the unexpected response. "Definitely not a bad thing though." He moved into a second attack at a few notches faster than his previous strike to see if Luke could keep up.

Luke could definitely keep up, and was even moving a little faster than Peter. He was gaining confidence, which was evident in the way he was performing.

Peter grinned, trading strikes with Luke, staying fast enough to challenge him.

Luke's entire face lit up when he was happy, and he was definitely happy now as he worked his way through the entirety of Form V against Peter.

"This is much different against someone," he commented.
