At 1:00, The Tick was standing outside the school doors, waiting for any family or friends who may show up. Once they had a good group and it didn't seem like anyone else was coming, Tick said, "Well, I think that's everyone! Hello, and welcome to Fandom High! I am The Tick, Dean of Students here, and I will be your Virgil as we descend into the Seven Circles that we call school!"

The Tick thought for a moment. "Not that I'm suggesting that this school is the underworld. I was really just going with the concept of the Guide character in classic literature. Anyway, let's head on in! And if you have any questions, please ask!"

[OOC: After I get all of the OCD up, I'll be heading to work for a few hours. I shall be slow, but available to have Tick answer any questions.

This is a half-play post, half-linkdrop. Teachers who are not specifically linked to in the OCD, if you could post a link to your classroom or office post in the Classrooms OOC thread, that would be appreciated. Parents can break away from the tour to talk to those any teachers. The tour will go slowly enough to not lose people.

Parents, you can ping in wherever you might have something specific to comment on, or wherever you might talk to someone about something. Considering how many threads there are, though, and how many people may be in here, I wouldn't mind if comments that just check into the room thread are left out for the sakes of everyone's browsers.

There is also a general mingling in the dorm lobby thread if anyone wants to end the tour in another big group meeting. :) ]

Parker's smile belied the mocking tone of her words. "Flattery, flattery. You make me sound like a daffodil. Instead of a very very thorny rose." She shrugged lightly. "I like it here. It isn't boring, and the people are-- interesting." She paced over to him, leaning on the balustrade running the length of the observatory. "I didn't tell you what my second plan after Harvard is now, did I?"

Sydney leaned back on the balustrade next to her. "No, you didn't. What plan?"

"Law school. Harvard, of course. But not just business law, criminal law." Parker smiled slightly, eyes shadowed. "Not that Daddy's going to hear about that part of it any time soon. Harvard has a combined MBA/jg program. It'll only take a year longer, and if I get through my undergrad in only three years, it won't delay any corporate time tables."

Sydney weighted his words carefully. "If your intention is to not delay any corporate time tables, why would you be pursuing the criminal law degree?"

"For after those corporate time tables are no longer applicable," Parker said, her voice turning steely. "I won't mention anything more to you, Syd. But I think you can guess my reasons for preparing for any future."

"You aren't preparing for 'any' future," Sydney said, very quietly. "You are preparing for your own, making your own choices. And that is the best news I have heard for a long time."

After her father's constant questioning the night before, Parker's grin couldn't get any wider. "Well. Yes." She looked away, then back. "In theory, anyway. If it doesn't get torpedoed before I can get things set up. Georgetown was part of that, but-- Oxford isn't a bad alternative." She sighed, hugged herself. "I can leave now, you know. If it ever gets more than I can stand, Jack has a way to get me out. Completely. I just don't know if I'll ever want to take it."

Without thinking, Sydney reached out and took her upper arm in a gentle grip. He held it for a breath or two, then realized what he was doing and let go. "I'm so glad. I want you to have the chance to do everything you want."

Parker blinked and bit her lower lip, then forced a smile back onto her face. "Wow, Syd. We're getting sentimental in your old age." She smirked a little. "Do you doubt me at all?"

He smiled at her. "Never have I ever doubted your ability to get exactly what you want. And as your 'godfather', I have a vested interest in your happiness."

"Then let's hit the rest of the tour. That'll make me happy. And you can tell me what you think of Jack. Since I already know what he thinks of you." Parker gave a dramatic shudder. "And at some point later, we can talk about... departed friends."

Sydney laughed and pushed away from the railing. "Lead on then."
