Newspaper Staff Meeting, 4pm FHT, Journalism Room

Rory was curled up on the couch in the back as per usual, and tapping away on her laptop.

She was available for questions, answers, and any bribes anyone had brought their editor, and of course there was coffee and baked goods.

Rory's there, and totally poke-able not dirty.

Angela was pouting as she took a seat. "I think I truly hate Jamie Madrox."

Rory glanced up. "Whoa. You're blonde."

So good at stating the obvious, that Rory.

"I know," Angela said. "Jamie Madrox -- Jamies madroxes? -- grabbed me and did alll this stuff to me. I think it was beautification committee stuff."

She scowled at a piece of hair. "He had to be this predictable? I look like random blonde girl now."

"It looks good," Rory offered. "Much better than when I was one." She paused. "Wait, you had a bunch of Jamies jump you and randomly give you a makeover?"

"It's closer to my natural color," Angela explained. "And yeah, it was kind of weird. But I guess if you can duplicate yourself, and you're bored, and -" she frowned "maybe kind of gay? It makes sense."

"Did he, they, hit anyone else?"

"Jamie's gay? I thought he was dating that Marie girl," Rory frowned. "Um, anyway, not that I've seen. They didn't get me. I was in the library all day."

"I thought so too, but would a straight guy do this?" Angela asked doubtfully.

Her mouth opened in dismay. "Library. I knew I forgot to do something. Did I miss a mad rush for the books?"

Rory shook her head, smiling a little. "Quiet day. Just Ms. Readman and Sam, and then Alec came by and Bridge visited me at lunch." There may have been some blushing.

Which Angela misinterpreted. "You like Alec?"

Rory laughed. "Well, he did kiss me at the Homecoming carnival, and he's awfully cute...but no."

"I kissed him at the end-of-summer thing," Angela happily agreed. "He's adorable."

Rory getting blushy about Bridge or Sam would be bizarre, so angela ddidn't even ask.

"And he always asks me about books!" Rory said, pleased. "I gave him a list of reading material he should check out, and he actually...read some of them. I wouldn't have pegged him as a reader."

Angela gave a happy sigh. "See, that actually makes things so much better," she said. "Knowing that there are, like, hot boys who read."

"Hey, Cap'n," Peter said. "I'm good for my normal StuCo report and something else, too. I have ideas." This was clearly not a good thing.

Rory arched a brow. "Ideas?"

"We have a lot of strange animals in Fandom, right?" Peter asked.

"You're talking to the girl with the vamped puppy," Rory said dryly. "I know this, yes. Go on."

"But there are a lot more weird animals that haven't been discovered," Peter said. "I'd like to write a story about them."

"If we haven't discovered them, how can you?" she asked, confused. "A speculation piece? Or an exposé?"

"I was thinking a speculation piece, possibly in a slighly humorous tone," Peter said.

"Really? You? Humorous?" Rory made a very shocked face. "Never."

"Just a smidge," Peter said.

"Well, you know how we hate that here," she said very, very seriously. "So keep it at a minimum."

"I'll do my best not to betray your orders, Cap'n," Peter said. "I'd hate to be charged with mut'ny."
