Ethics [Thursday, October 19, 6th period]

Vader stomped into the classroom, slamming the door so hard behind him that it cracked across the middle.

"Today I will give you your midterm assignment," he snapped, cloak swirling around him as he paced. "The master-apprentice system of education has long been traditional in my galaxy. The Jedi used it--" his tone was laced with scorn as his helmet swiveled towards Rory, "and my own Sith still use it. We will be following in the Sith tradition."

He pulled a piece of paper from his desk. "I have paired you up into master and apprentice teams. Throughout the coming week, you will work together. Masters, your goal is to train your apprentices to a level of usefulness in a skill of your choice. Apprentices, your goal is to become better than your master at that skill and ultimately become the master. You must provide a united front to the rest of the world while seeking to undermine each other at every turn. Next class you will report to me about the weaknesses and strengths of your partner and how you would hypothetically use them to gain the upper hand in your relationship."

And if Vader sounded a bit bitter about this particular arrangement, well, he was.

"I have heard about the master-slave exercise in the previous Ethics class," he growled, voice heavy with menace. "This is a completely different concept and anyone who tries to turn this into non-hypothetical exploitation will be answering to me personally. You will be wishing for detention when I am finished with you." He made sure to look at every student as he said that. There would be no misinterpretation of his intentions in this.

He turned his attention to the paper in his gloved right hand. "Listen for your names. I will only be saying them once."

At the end of class, he looked around the room again. "I will be holding office hours on Saturday and Sunday if any of your visitors choose to speak with me and hear how inadequate I find all of you." His helmet swiveled towards Rory again. "Other than that, do not bother me."

"No." Yeah, she was definitely sulking now.

Jack looked as sad as he knew how, letting his arms fall to his sides and his shoulders slump. "No?"

"No bunny hugs," she shook her head, "If I can ever get out of this thing, I'll hug you extra later."

"Can I hug you? You look so soft and adorable and huggable." He stepped closer, dropping his voice. "Not that I'd object to extra...hugging."

Sam glanced over at Vader. It was hard to look inconspicuous and nothing like a TIE fighter thief when you were in a pink bunny suit. "Not sure this is the best place, Jack."

Jack followed her gaze and grimaced. "Okay." He stepped back several paces and leaned on a desk. "Can I come and see you later? Maybe help you out of that bunny suit?"

"Yes, you can come see me later," she rolled her eyes at the question, "and hopefully I'll be out of it already."

Jack decided to ignore the eye rolling. "Later, then. And you do make a very cute bunny," he told her.

"Thank you. But it's not going to make Jamie less of a dead man."

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-10-20 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Jack grinned. "Of that I have no doubt. How did he manage to get you into it, anyway?" He looked over at Jamie. "There's no visible damage..."

"He multiplies when you hit him," she grumped.

Snickering, he had to ask, "And how many did you end up with?"

Re: General chatting

[identity profile] carter-i-am.livejournal.com 2006-10-20 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
"I lost count."

Jack shook his head, still snickering. "Which explains how he - they - managed to get you into that. Did he say why a bunny?"

"All I remember is something about pretending it was Easter," Sam balled up a piece of notebook paper and threw it at him.

"Hey!" Jack batted it away. "I'm not the one that put you in a bunny costume. But I will help you get revenge for the bunnying," he smirked, "if you ask me nicely."

"Bunnying?" She cracked up.

Re: General chatting

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-10-20 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
He grinned and nodded his head vigorously, pleased that he'd made Sam laugh. "Yup, bunnying."

Re: General chatting

[identity profile] carter-i-am.livejournal.com 2006-10-20 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay, maybe I won't kill him. But there will be revenge."

Re: General chatting

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-10-20 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course, of course, but you know..." Jack looked at her speculatively, then leaned forward and touched her chin, just a quick brush before he dropped his hand. "There's nothing you don't look good in, up to and including a bunny costume."

[identity profile] carter-i-am.livejournal.com 2006-10-20 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
She kissed him quickly and lightly. "You're delusional. Cute and obviously in need of glasses, but delusional."

Re: General chatting

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-10-20 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe," he grinned. "But I'm definitely cute, right?"

Re: General chatting

[identity profile] carter-i-am.livejournal.com 2006-10-20 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Would a bunny lie to you?"

Re: General chatting

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2006-10-20 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Nope. Bunnies are the most truthful of animals."

"So you must be cute. Unlike me, who is starting to get hot and itchy." She scratched between her shoulder blades.
