Detention [Saturday, October 14, all day]

The Danger ~~Room~~ Shop had been configured into a series of stark detention cells.

Vader checked off the names of the students as they entered detention and wordlessly pointed them to their own room.

"You will sit in there for a period of time and think about what you did to get in here," he growled as the interrogation droid that his Ethics students would recognize hovered behind him. "And if you are not feeling as...repentant...as you should be, you will continue to stay in that cell all. day. long."

The doors slammed shut behind each student, leaving them in darkness.

OOC: ETA: I have plans for tonight, woe, so I will pick up all hanging pings in the morning. Your characters got out of detention around 5 o'clock Fandom time and Vader was pissy all. day. long. Thanks for playing!!

Naomi managed to start the controls and follow her wingman out of the hanger bay, she tried to ignore the nervous feeling in her stomach as she piloted.

"Faster," he snapped. "I don't want to be another of Lord Vader's examples."

On Naomi's navigational screen, blips that were tagged as other TIE fighters were swarming in behind them.

The X-Wing in front, colored red on the screen to denote an enemy target, was joined by eleven friends.

This was going to get ugly.

"Break port!" her wingman shouted just before his TIE disintegrated in a blast of laser fire.

TIEs didn't have shields.

Naomi didn't want to be another example either as she tried to push the TIE fighter to a faster speed that she felt comfortable with, her eyes widened as she saw the growing number of ships.

Definitely not good.

As her wingman's TIE fighter was destroyed, Naomi tried to keep her own steady as she realized that it was starting to go out of control.

The targeted X-Wing was just out of the range of her guns, and his fellow pilots were trying to keep in that way.

One of them closed in on her tail. The TIE's internal warning alarms for potential missile lock blared.

Naomi would have to move fast to avoid getting hit.

"Crap!" Naomi said as she increased her speed, which was getting close to speeds that she could't manage and she somehow was able to stop getting hit but she realized just as quickly that she wouldn't be able to shake them off at this rate.

The ship that was chasing her had been joined by its wingman and together they fired blasts of lassers at her unshielded flank.

The world went white......and Naomi found herself back in the mission briefing.

"We've received word from Grand Moff Tarkin that the technical readouts for the Death Star have been stolen," the man standing in the front of the room began. Under the professional veneer, there was a definite note of fear in his voice. "The thief hasn't gotten far, though."

A schematic of a ship--an X-Wing--flashed onto the screen behind the commander. "We need to destroy this ship before the information can get to the Rebellion." He clapped his hands together sharply. "To your ships! And if you don't destroy the Rebel ship..." his voice trailed off ominously. "Lord Vader will be most displeased. It would be better not to come back at all."

At least this time round Naomi had a more clear view on what she was doing and so she hurried to her TIE fighter and strapped herself in again.

"Faster," her wingman snapped. "I don't want to be another of Lord Vader's examples."

On Naomi's navigational screen, blips that were tagged as other TIE fighters were swarming in behind them.

She was going to have to act fast to change the outcome.

This time Naomi was able to pilot at a speed that wouldn't see her TIE fighter going out of control and she started firing at the X-Wings and tried to avoid getting hit at the same time.

Her wingman disappeared in a cloud of shrapnel a few moments into the dogfight and the X-Wing that they were supposed to be pursuing looked a lot like the other nine ships that were still in one piece.

Two likely targets were within the range of Naomi's guns.

She couldn't shoot them both.

Naomi knew that she only had about a second to make her decision and so she fired at the X-Wing in her range that was the furthest from her own TIE fighter.

The X-Wing exploded and the lights came back up.

"You have completed your first mission," Vader intoned. ~~The second one is in the thread after lunch.~~
