School Assembly, Friday Afternoon, The Auditorium

"Hello, Fandom High students and faculty! This week's assembly comes to you out of necessity due to the cost of construction. Our speakers today have a focus on corporate sponsorship and are here to show you the good side and bad side of such sponsorship. Now if you'll give our guests your undivided attention, we can begin!"

[OOC: Same deal as last week. General conversation threads are nice and open, reactions to our guests can go in their threads after they have pinged in, and same for Q&A. Thanks to my assembly volunteers for contributing. :)

ETA: The sprinklers were set off here and will be going until shortly after a faculty member busts those responsible. Faculty members? Nail them!]

Bel was in the audience. Bored out. of. his. mind. He started bouncing a small ball of fire between his hands for something to do.

Zuko was really starting to wonder why so many people showed up to these things. You know, beside the fact that that one guest speaker had the worst hair ever.

He was definitely getting bored when he noticed Bel playing with fire. Literally. A quick glance around told him no one was looking and then he conjured a steady flame in the palm of his hand. The flame, of course, was just a little bit bigger than Bel's fireball. Not that he was competitive or anything.

Bel looked sideways at Zuko. He snorted and increased the size of his own fireball. Two could play at this game....

Being the only firebender around here, Zuko wasn't about to be undone by some demon. An intake of breath and the flame increased. Zuko leaned back in his chair and started moving the flame from one hand to the other.

Oh, no, he was not going to be shown up by some little punk who thought he was the master of fire. Bel concentrated on his fireball, easing the size up again. He bounced it on his palm, glancing over at Zuko and lifting an eyebrow.

The challenge was clear, but increasing the flame would be way too noticable. Adding a second flame in his other hand? Totally acceptable.

Zuko smirked at Bel.

Bel growled under his breath. He didn't have Zuko's minute control over fire, but he made up for it in raw power. He also didn't care about being noticed. He clapped his hands together, quenching the fireball in his hand, then quickly conjured another, bigger one.

Zuko sneered. They could be here all day if they were going to to just try to outsize each other. He let both flames die down and grabbed a sheet of paper form his messenger bag.

His eyes flickered as he glanced over at Bel. The paper disappeared between his hands and smoke escaped from between his fingers. When he opened his palms, ashes fell to the ground.

Burning paper was easy. Bel released the fireball from his hand, letting it hover over at his shoulder. He leaned back, crossing his arms, as the fireball continued to float at his side, as if waiting for a command. He cocked his head at Zuko.

That was something Zuko couldn't do and he looked briefly annoyed. Tapping his foot on the ground, small flames spread from underneath his soles as he tried to come up with something he was sure Bel wouldn't be able to do.

Taking a deep breath, he tilted his head back and breathed out both flame and smoke. A bit too much smoke and circled up towards the ceiling and set off the sprinklers. Oops.

The water rained down and doused Bel's fireball. "Hey!" he exclaimed, jumping to his feet. He looked around nervously, hoping there wasn't a teacher nearby to nail them for this.

Zuko jumped up from his seat too, it didn't stop him from getting wet, though. He blinked up at the sprinklers, not having expected to get soaked while inside.

Since Aziraphale had to come up for class anyway, Wilson had decided to tag along. Besides, he needed to drop off lollipops in his office anyway and since he was here, he'd decided to sit in on an assembly, as he had, after all, consigned three of his students to the next one.

He was currently, being reminded of why attending anything at Fandom High was an enterprise never to be taken on lightly, as the water from the sprinklers washed down over his head, soaking his hair and the shoulder of his shirt.

Uh huh.

Standing and turning, he happened to notice Bel -a known producer of fire like substances- and another student looking guilty and headed in their direction. Thus, Bel's furative glances might have come to notice, Wilson standing there with his arms crossed, drenched and with a cocked eyebrow.

"Belthazor?"

As he wasn't being addressed, Zuko tried to look innocent. Which actually looked a lot like scowling. Also, he was steaming a bit.

Aly showed up just behind Zuko to tap him on the shoulder having been keeping an eye on the assembly from the side of the room.

"And you too, I think, hmmm," she said. "Interesting place to use your Gift."

Zuko jumped, his attention having been on Wilson so he hadn't expected anyone to show up behind him. "I was bored," he informed her, not so bothered with keeping up pretense.

"I didn't do it!" Bel said, totally willing to sell Zuko up the river. And he wasn't lying, really.

Wilson flicked a glance towards Aly as she came up behind what looked to be another guilty party and gave her a quick, wry smile before turning his attention back to Bel for the moment.

"Well, I won't say you physically turned the sprinklers on." Wilson agreed. "However, fireballs have a tricky tendency to cause such reactions in fire prevention equipment."

"Especially minor fire duels in the midst of the audience," Aly said sweetly, wishing she could laugh. She looked from Bel to Zuko. "Boredom or simple oneupmanship, neither is an excuse to get us all wet."

Zuko was scowling at Bel for his willingness to sell him out. "Who puts a shower in here anyway?" he grumbled unhappily.

Inwardly, Wilson was really pleased to hear a 'sorry' from Bel and not a fight and while he, like Aly, was fighting back a grin, he wasn't quite sure what options they had open to them for this situation.

"Sorry is good but really gentlemen, a fire duel in the middle of a student filled auditorium, a little dangerous don't you think?"

Zuko sneered at Wilson's words. "If you think that was a fire duel..."

Yep, so not helping his case.

Aly almost rolled her eyes.

"No, it was showing off for each other. I suppose you both lost since you both were caught," she said, still lightly. "Maybe you can both ponder the fact in detention tomorrow?"

"I'd've kicked your ass," Bel finished for Zuko.

Not helping either.

Then he heard what Aly said. "Oh, come on!" he protested. "Nobody got hurt!"
