Science! (Thursday, 7th Period)

Ms Frizzle waited for her class and Ellie's astronomy class on the front steps of the school. The bus waited patiently behind her, looking suspiciously like a very normal school bus. Ms Frizzle, as usual, looked nothing like a normal science teacher. Moons and planets adorned today's dress, with dangling Saturns for earrings. Her hairstyle was different today, though. Curling buns on either side of her head. When everyone had arrived, she bounced in place before throwing out her arms.

"Good afternoon, everyone! Class, I'd like you to welcome Ms Arroway's astronomy class, who will be joining us for today's field trip! Last class we were talking about the water cycle on the planet Earth. I think it's time we expanded our focus a bit." A worrying smile that should be getting familiar to her students spread across her face and her eyes lit up. "Everyone to the bus!"

[[Don't ask about the kind of day I've had. Just . . . don't ask. OCD coming up. Play away!]]

Pippi pays attention to Ms Frizzle and takes notes.

Naomi was mentally taking down notes as she stared out of the window.

When he heard the words 'field trip' in class yesterday, this really wasn't what Shawn had expected. So he's not really taking notes, he's too busy staring out the windows.

Molly tried to take notes. Really she did. The staring out the window kind of got in the way of that though. She did listen to Ms. Frizzle's lecture though.

Teddy was practically glued to the window, watching them leave the atmosphere.

This was waaay better than the usual trip to the planetarium.

Billy grinned like a little kid as the bus headed out into the atmosphere. He too was glued to the window, listening to Ms Frizzle with half an ear. He wasn't overly surprised at the bus taking off, after all, he'd been in her detention.

By now, the unexpected directions in which the bus was taking them didn't surprise or hold Chad in thrall as much, so he paying attention to the lecture. Too bad he always forgot to bring his notebook to this class, though. He considered possibly writing them on his hand, but he didn't have a pen, either. Oh, well. Pretty sweet freakin' view.

Luna had no idea that buses shouldn't fly or go into space, so she just went along merrily for the ride.

Sakura yelped when the bus lifted off the ground, as opposed to just driving along it. She clung to the window as if fearing the bus may spit her out with one hand, the other protectively clasped around her necklace. If needed, she could get herself out of a bad situation...

Thankfully, this is not the first time Pippi has worn a space suit... Though it is the first time she's worn one in space.

Naomi was thrilled with the idea of being back in space, as she stared out of the window completely amazed by how different it looked compared to her time. It was the first time that she had worn a spacesuit though but she wasn't concerned about that.

Trying to concentrate on Ms Frizzle when you suddenly discover yourself wearing a spacesuit? Not so easy. Shawn's not even trying, he's far too busy trying to work out the helmet.

Idly listening, Chad picked up his helmet and tapped the glass visor as if he didn't trust it entirely. He squeezed it a bit as if to test its durability. Tests passed, he waited until they were getting closer to landing to fit it on his head.

Blair looked around and saw...hair. Space helmets were so not made for people with jewfros hairdo's like his. Puffing at it for a few seconds he finally looked around. "This is amazing."

Squee!

He was in space standing on the surface of another planet! Or an asteroid depending on when you asked apparently.

Still grinning like a four year old.

"Ms Frizzle?" Pippi said raising her hand. "I thought Pluto was a planet?"

Pippi is delighted... That American flag over there would make a good souvenir... Ooo! A rock!
