Internet for Dummies, Wednesday 10/11, 3rd Period

Abby greeted the class with a flash from the digital camera she held. "I hope everyone got the handwavy email I sent asking you to bring an item to sell. If not, you've got to pick something that you have on you."

Abby directed each of the students over to a section of the lab that she set up for taking pictures. "Once we've got your pictures uploaded you've got to come up with a good description for your item. You have to balance powerful 'selling words' with not totally lying. It should be fun."

"After you've done that, feel free to shop as you watch the bids roll in."

Now what the hell was that supposed to mean?

Good wishes, of course. This hat once had a band made of $50,000 worth of real American money. That luck remains in the hat, even though the money doesn't.

almost_bald bids $10.00

new_york_cowboy bids $20.00

Of course, there's another question: Can I paint it blue?

"Now why in tarnation would anyone want to paint it blue?"

If you win it, you can do whatever you want with it.

Pete had no idea what that was, but the guy hadn't said he didn't want it after all, so he figured it was good.
